American Pro Energy won't stop calling me

Every day I get a call from someone that usually barely speaks English, and usually calling from a very loud office or room (probably a sweatshop) with people screaming and yelling in the background. They want to tell me about all the free money that I qualify for from the State of California and to get it, all I have to do is allow them to come to my home to do a free energy survey. I usually let them ramble on before I tell them I'm not interested, but they are very aggressive and don't give up. I pretty much allow them to talk and waste as much time as they want and they usually get frustrated and hang up.

Today the barely-english-speaking woman put me through to her supervisor who presented himself as Aaron Lancaster. The first thing I asked was to be removed from their calling list, to which he responded he was not required to, and could not do. I was a bit surprised and asked him to confirm this, and again he said "we do not have to remove you from our list or stop calling you" .. I googled it and he may be right. It seems that American Pro Energy may be operating under the radar of the Do Not Call list and may not qualify as the type of business that has to abide by the Do Not Call list. Great going lawmakers!

Anyway, unless there is something good on TV I just allow them to go on and on, and spend as much time talking as they wish. I don't really pay attention but whenever they get to the point of setting up my free energy survey or consultation I just tell them no thank-you.

American Pro Energy sales calls from (909) 394-1160
I hate these clowns. I've never gotten to speak with Aaron Lancaster but between American Pro Energy and at least a dozen other companies, I get 1 or 2 calls a day. I think I'll do what you do and just let them talk and waste their time. It sounds like it would be entertaining to hear them get all frustrated and angry. Hopefully if I'm wasting their time it's less people they can call per day. My call had a caller-ID of (909) 394-1160 .. I've blocked it but I'm sure they have 1,000 more disposable numbers.

I just got a call from them! I tried to be nice but she would not give up so I finally just hung up on her. Must be a miserable job/life.

(909) 394-1162 American Pro Energy
American Pro Energy just called me from 909 394-1162 .. This is the third call this week. This time i just let her ramble on and on, and at the end of the call before setting up my appointment I asked how they could put solar on an apartment complex (even though earlier I told her I was the homeowner). That stopped her in her tracks!

Re: American Pro Energy scam
I don't think American Pro Energy are actually scammers. They aren't trying to steal any money and what they are doing is legit - they are basically trying to sell you home rooftop solar panel systems. What is not legitimate, or at least extremely irritating to many people is their aggressive tactics, refusal to stop calling, and semi-retarted callers that often can hardly speak English.
Sick of it
Re: American Pro Energy scam
If this were true and they were legitimate, then they would not use software to present fake Caller ID numbers.

Re: American Pro Energy scam

I agree. My caller ID showed the caller as Reidl Aurie (a name I cannot find on Google, so I figure I might at well post it) but the name used by the person on the other end of the phone was completely different. The phone number was in my area code - 707-271-XXXX. When I Google that number, the results that say it's in Fairfield or Point Arena, one of them showing a private party, but none showing a business. (I could call the number and confirm that it's not a business number, but why? Also, I don't want to bother someone unconnected with them, and so I'm also not posting the entire number).

> They aren't trying to steal any money and what they are doing is legit - they are basically trying to sell you home rooftop solar panel systems. They actually say they are middle-men who will come assess your home, then put you in touch with solar companies that can install panels. So American Pro Energy doesn't even sell solar panels. They are just an in-betweener. fudge them.

Re: American Pro Energy scam

It's a scam. Why would any legit business keep calling you if you ask them politely not to. It's kind of funny that their story changes a little bit each time. One time the call is solar, another it's about SoCalEd rebates I may qualify for (but I don't live in a SoCalEd service area) other times it's a survey on home energy use. To be rude to some they called (auto diaper because they aren't connected until you say hello--pick up the phone and listen for the background noise. Auto diaper switches have a unique din of silence.). They are a scam. Don't bother with the BBB, they are impenitent. Contact the state business license, consumer affairs and the FCC. Maybe it's time for a tv news report?

Re: American Pro Energy scam

Yes, we should not let this continue!

They call me multiple times a month from different numbers on my mobile, even though I am on a "do not call list". One such number is 818-806-7312. When I asked the rep this time for the company's phone number, she refused. When I asked to speak with a supervisor she was rude and hung up.
