Ouch, ouch, and...ouch!! Maybe I'm small minded but this falls into the "extreme" category along with the piercings where you can get suspended...Like in that movie with J.Lo!

You know, the only reason that looks painful for me is because you can see how irritated the skin is around the piercings...  it'd probably look really cute if it were healed all the way... I bet it would suck to get one of those ribbons caught on something though lmao.

only my ears are pierced, that's enough for me, but i love the piercings on men whereever they may be! my daughter has 4 different lip rings she wears at the same time, and my other daughter had a ring in her nostril but she stopped wearing it because  she would always inadvertently pull on it and i told her she was going to have one giant nostril from tugging on it so much. she decided to take it out!   juliek

I'm currently thinking I want to get my labret done, and put a silver hoop in... I dunno, I've always loved the silver hoop rings, and I think the center would look best on me...

I'm pretty sure about this, so I'll probably have it done within the next month or two.... if anyone here has had it done, I'd love to hear of the pros/cons and healing time for you...

My best friend had it done. She wasn't very happy about it, because it kept getting infected and it hurt..She had to take it out in the end. If you like, I can ask her more details of what happened, I don't remember the whole story.

I've not seen one infected (and I've seen many pierced)... but I'm good at keeping things clean, I'm a bit of a germaphobe go through bactine and rubbing alcohol like crazy (hell I'm still using that on the belly piercing I got 5 years ago)

I'm not worried about infection, more or less that 'gross' period where no matter how often you clean it, it's all yuck..  and if it causes complications during any sort of activity (eating, drinking, etc)... and maybe how much it hurt...

If you have a tendency to be someone to picks, or play with things, i dont recommend it. Ive seen lots of messed up teeth from labret piercings. They arent my favorite, but i do usually suggest side piercings, rather than center piercings to avoid damage to the teeth.

Why would it damage my teeth?

And I generally ignore piercings... I'm a fidgety person, but only when it comes to my hands, and I don't like to touch my face... so I'm not worried about that...

Metal is harder than enamel. the metal rubs on the teeth and can eventually wear them down. another thing those piercings can do is wear down your gum tissues, causing receding gum lines which can-eventually- lead to gum disease and the loss of teeth (extreme cases!) Im not saying dont get it- they can be cute. I would just maybe say, dont plan to keep it in forever.

I have my lip done twice on the same side.

I had the inner one done first, lip swelled a bit but went down within a week or a bit. No problems what so ever. Had the outer one done about 3 months later. Same things less swelling though.

Don't even know that they are there. Only things have had is that I have one sticky out tooth in my whole mouth and its right where I had the inner one done.... really should have thought that through better :(

No infections, slight crustyness when first done but that is completly normal when you first have a piercing.

If you need any info on piercings then go to this site....

www.bodyjewelleryshop.com

go to the forum thing. The people on there are just as lovely as on here and just as helpful too :)

Re: Body Piercing and Jewelry

Eh... I'm over that.... I got in an annoyed mood and had someone stick a needle through my tongue the day after my birthday....

And I hate when people tell me it doesn't hurt.... and when people ask 'what did it feel like?'.... it felt like a friggen needle being shoved through your tongue/skin/etc....... just like it was.... yes it hurt... it's supposed to hurt... other wise more people would have them... but you get over the pain....

yeah, that's my little shpiel...

Anyway, thanks for the info... but as much as I love piercings, I like to be able to hide them... I don't like the ones that are just right there in everyone's face... I'm glad I realized this before I put a hole in my face :) ... I get stared at enough as it is :weird look:

I can't find any online of what i want. Pretty much a curved barbell (eyebrow ring) on the top of my big toe. Might have to wait til it's a little warmer so i can wear sandals during healing.

Re: Body Piercing and Jewelry

I'll find out this weekend, I plan on going to the piercer and get the low down, I'm thinking possibly no. Which would make me have to wait until it gets warmer. There's not alot of info on this out there on the 'net.
