Deleting books /apps from icloud
I purchased some books from iBooks and no longer want them and deleted them from my iPad. How do I delete them from my iCloud as each time I view my purchased books they still appear?

Re: Deleting books /apps from icloud
You can't. You paid for those ibooks so they will always be in your paid history.

Settings -> iBooks -> Show All Purchases (set to no)

Isn't it ridiculous way of Crapple to force users on what it thinks the whole world should do.

Re: Deleting apps and iBooks from icloud

Why do you want to delete them in your purchase history? Those iBooks are yours and the history is like your receipt.

You used to be able to "hide" them by swiping the purchase in your purchased-list and selecting 'hide', but since iOS 6 (or, some recent update) the option to hide apps from your iPad or iPhone has been removed. You can still hide them in iTunes (Mac or PC) by clicking the 'x' that appears next to it in your Purchases section.

For Hubby - the reason you may not want them in your purchase history: I may not want my kids to have instant access to everything I've read. My 8 year old may not need to have every book I've read pop up on his ipad right now (and he's 8, he isn't getting his own account at this point) and don't think he isn't smart enough to unclick the "hide" button. Also, I know of people who have downloaded "adult" apps, etc. as a joke, or others that turned out to be not what they expected, and there is no way to get rid of them. Once again, my kids don't need access to everything I see and do. In addition, I don't keep the receipt for everything I've ever purchased. Do you? Free things don't require a receipt. This is a terrible policy. Check the boards, Apple in particular. LOTS of people are upset and complaining about it.

I absolutely agree with the above comment. I never again will order/purchase any book magazine from Apple. It is arrogant of Apple to decide what I can and cannot delete. This goes for photos. I am really really ticked off about this.

I completely agree. I will never buy another book on iBooks. I will use my Kindle.

Re: Deleting books /apps from icloud
I agree with most. I am trying to delete the iBooks app it will not go with the normal cross method. I deleted all the books and they remain cloud. They take up a lot of my space allowance. I just want to delete all of it and should have the choice. I did. It know before I began or I would not have bought a single book. I am very poor technically, old, untutored user so need a very simple answer to a simple question. How do you get rid of both the app and the books please?

Apple knows that very few people are going to throw away their iphone or iPad over something as inconsequential as this.

Don't you just hate it when you ask a question and some idiot who doesn't know the answer asks you "Why do you want to do that"...what business is it of his why you want to do it - he's just hiding his ignorance by answering a different question that he thinks he knows the answer to so he can make himself feel smart, what a loser

That just means they don't show up on the phone, but if they go to Store in ibooks, they will show up in the Purchased folder and can be downloaded again to the library.

I will NEVER again buy any books from the apple store, when I buy my paper copies I DECIDE ( take note, Apple does not decide for me) when and why I take my books to the donation bin!!!
