Blocked on facebook friend still showing

are you sure you blocked him?
.. i think the steps would be UNfriend him, then block him.. but i think that you shouldnt see him anymore even if you didnt unfriend him and then blocked him.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?

I have someone in my list that looked like he has deactivated his account because his name is in black not blue anymore, empty avatar, no list of mutual friends and of course I cannot access to his page.

But on mobile from the same account, his name is written in blue and I can access his page! I can access his page but it is limited because when I tried to click on one post (picture), I could not see it and it said he might have deleted it.

I wonder how did he do that. I have been trying to find out how, but I still can't figure out why. Does anybody know how to do that?

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
I don't think he blocked me because I can still see the white box to write a message below your previous message, just I couldn't send it because it said the link was not working. While when someone blocked you, there is a short message below your previous message to him telling that you cannot send any message to him. Actually, we are playing restriction games, to limit what each other can see from our FaceBook. So I think it is his way to restrict me, not FaceBook glitch as you said.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
I posted a status on facebook that a so called friend took as a racist comment although he had taken it the wrong way. He said he had reported me and subsequently seconds later my account shut down. Now every time i try to log in it says my account is temporarily unavailable and to log in via a computer and follow the instructions given. Currently i have no access to a computer. My friends are still able to see my profile but ive been unable to access my account for 3 days now. I know it says temporary but ive recieved no email to say it will be inaccesesible for x amount of days. Does this mean im permanently blocked?

I'm certainly no Facebook expert, but, i think it means your account is temporarily unavailable until you log in via computer and follow the instructions.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
When I searched the guy's name, it won't come up. I checked all our mutual friends but i couldn't find his name. So when i went to my own profile i found his name but it said "This account has been deactivated. Only you can see _____ on your friends list. You have the option to unfriend that person." but i don't really know if it's true because sometimes when you get blocked, doesn't tell you that you're blocked.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
I had the same message for a friend who just added me yesterday. I don't understand why they would add me yesterday then block me today. lol. Only a matter of about 7 hours apart. It just says "Facebook User" in my chat history with them, but I can still send messages. I'm hoping it's just a glitch. Did yours ever get fixed?

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
I had the same thing happen with 2 friends. That same message popped up only once, on the first time I clicked on the now no-avatar picture, and subsequently there is nothing and no way to see my friend's page. The first friend I went to high school with and I had e-mail for her, so I wrote and told her what happened and she wrote back and told me I was still on her friends list and she had no idea what had happened. She said she had not changed anything. What is going on with this ? I still get posts from her on my wall so this is very weird. This has happened since FaceBook has made me transition to timeline. Does anyone know how this kind of glitch can be fixed ??? I'm feeling pretty frustrated.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
Hi, my partner and I had a disagreement over something on Facebook so,he said he is going to delete it but on an old message it shows his photograph and name but if I click on it then it just goes to my profile, he also doesnt show up on mutual friends but on some status he commented on it says 4 comments n when I click on it, it only shows 2 from other people and he is completely gone from my relationship status. But on my messenger app it doesnt show his profile photograph or name, it just says Facebook user. Has he actually de activated the account or blocked me and my relatives as doesnt show up on my sons as his dad anymore either. Just confused due to photograph n name on one but then not on the other. Thanku.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
Hi. Well he said hes de activated it but he tends to lie sometimes as he seems to think this makes the prob go away or b sorted, we have had few probs, not major but he flys off the handle over simple things n I try to explain that dont need to lie, truth is always better. I dont mind either way bout it I just want to no if I am right trusting him

Re: Facebook account is temporarily locked

This type of lockout is usually temporary. Don't try to log in again for at least 24 hours and you might be able to log in then.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
So I added a friend on facebook, he then subsequently disappeared from my facebook a few days later. When i searched for his name, it still came up in the search box at the top of the page, but when i tried to click on it, it would say theres an error. And old messages are coming up with no hyper link. When i log onto a mutual friends account, all his information is gone as well.. Have i been blocked or has he de-activated his account? please help!

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?

It sounds like she deleted her account. If she blocked you then you would not be able to see her at all. And if she did show up (being blocked), you would not see her picture and you would not be able to click it. But you said you went on your fake account and it was the same and her "info" is still coming up....  I would assume she deleted it. Unless she knew you had this fake account and she blocked that. Even then, every time I have blocked someone they never showed up. Even in old messages, it would show a blank picture and the link would be disabled.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?

My Facebook account was disabled as well, therefore after weeks of struggle trying to regain it, I've written this semi-blog naming all my experience. It does answer the question as well, how to know whether your account was deleted or deactivated.

Hope that helps. p.s. from what you've already told, it seems like the account is deactivated.

Re: Facebook: Deactivated or Blocked?
If someone blocks you, their wall posts on your wall will not be removed, they will stay there with his name without a hyperlink. If someone deactivates their account, their wall posts will be removed from your wall, but you can still view wall to wall posts. If someone removes you from friends, wall posts will not be removed, they will stay there with the name hyperlinked, when you click it, you will see the request friendship page.
