Is there a way to get a geographical location from a cell phone ip address?
Technically, Yes, but it depends on how accurate you want the "geographical location" to be. It probaly won't be that accurate because the way the internet on your cellphone is routed will most likely be something along the lines of Cellphone->Cell Tower-> Switching Center-> and possibly the corporate office. So where you are getting your internet( and your ip) from is mot likely going to be the the switching center which could located far away, giving you or whoever else an inaccurate reading.
Sorry about the complex answer lol
Hope that helps
I wonder about this too...I've gathered info from a visitor to my page that I KNOW lives in one state but the tracker says another. I know it's the person because they are registered with the same tracker site and their profile photograph came up. I wasn't sure if they were logged on from their cell phone or if it was because they use something like AOL or Yahoo. Anyone know?
uhm....... when I go to certin sites, and they have ad's on the sidebar for "hoke up with local singles"; about half the time they are for Belleville, Mi (correct). But the other half of the time they are for Houston, Tx. Amazingly, they use the same user pictures for both.......
