Greedy Disney

My daughter and I love Disney and anything Disney but I'm finding them more and more greedy every year. They just upped their yearly subscription to their online playhouse. They haven't put out a good movies in years (my opinion), and when you order their merchandise, it's poorly made. I find myself going online to the UK Disney and buying their stuff because it's better quality. We are planning our annual Disneyland trip in November just to see if we can spot some more hidden Mickeys. I heard they put more of them into the attractions. Anyone have any pointers on where to look?

This post was kind of a gripe, sorry.

I LOVE Disney. I would go to Disneyland several times a year if I could. It is worth the money to go there compaired to other Theme Parks in our area, and it is ran really well. I don't buy much merchandise though, because you are right it isn't the quality it used to be or should be for the price. The last Disney movie I really liked was Lilo and Stitch, although Wall-E was cute.

Sorry, no idea where to look for the mouse.

Try UK ebay Disney stores. They have awesome stuff that America doesn't have. I love their Nightmare Before Christmas items.

No, I have never been there but it is on my list of things to do. In Orlando, do they decorate the Haunted Mansion with Jack Skellington and the Nightmare Before Christmas, October through December?

I've been to Disneyland a handful of times.. I've rarely bought any items from them since they are way overpriced. But I will say that when I was in high school, my best-friends' brother & cousin worked there and we would go with them to work (Disneyland) and get in for free.. They gave us these blue tickets that worked at BOTH theme parks...  I may suggest if you know someone who works there ask them if they can get you in.. We were there pretty much once or twice a month and i do remember each employee can only bring in 3 people at one time.. Not sure how he did it or if they changed the rules now..

The last time I was at Disney World was 2003. I believe the Magic Kingdom is extremely similar to Disney Land. The big difference is in the other parks (MGM, animal kingdom, epcot) which are fantastic and worth the trip to Florida. In Anaheim we have California Adventure which is fun too. For a short trip I would just spend a day in Disneyland, for 5 days or more I would hit up a few parks in Disney World.

We've gone to Disney World every other year for the past 8 years or so.  My brother and his family live in FL and it's always a real nice visit - we spend a day or two at Disney and one of the other parks.  I love Epcot and it's always fun trying to drink our way around the circle.  It's neat how the classic Disney rides (Haunted Mansion, Small World, Pirates, etc) are painstakenly kept original.  However the Pirates of The Caribbean was changed slightly.  We were there a few years ago that very afternoon they reopened the ride unannounced with the Johnny Depp character.  My brother's daughter heard about it and came squealing the news while we were trying to cool off in the balmy 120 degree shade.... so off to wait in the Pirate line we went.  Arrrr!

Disneyland had the Depp transformation last time I was there. They took him and a few of the characters and added them in all over the ride. It was still a good ride. Just different.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirates life for me...

BTW... the ice cream stand close to Pirates is one of the few places where they have chocolate covered bananas.

I don't know but I can eat my weight in Mickey Bars.

Mint Julips.  I make a real good one.  Slightly crush 3 or 4 mint (garden mint) leaves, pour in a 1 tbs sugar/syrup solution (water and and disolve sugar until thick), add ice, fill with Maker's Mark.  For sipping in the sun while your horse loses.
