I definitely think bleach is the number one enemy against nails. I clean with the Clorox spray bleach, (I love the stuff!), but it does a number on my nails. I know.. I know. wear gloves... but I just don't. *sighs*
I love love LOVE my sally hansen black. Toes, Fingers....All of the above. In the summer depending on how much time I want to spend in the water I might get a great manicure. My toes sometimes are a different color....I have a HUGE stash of pinks and pearls and even some old glitters...Glitter toes are kinda cute
Does anyone remember painting each finger and toe a different color?
~~I B CUTE! Don't argue with me I know I'm cute!~~
YES! In jr. high that was the cool thin to do. Every nail a different bright color. My husband still prefers those crazy bright colors. I have had to add a few to my collection of mauves.I also used to like a bit of glitter on my toes in the summer. Maybe I'll get some glitter polish this summer.
Hi, I love nail polish.
I have everything from the palest pink to the darkest red/black. Fingernails match toes. French manicure and a fun bright color on the toes. My toenails are always polished no matter what season. My fingernails either have some kind of clear shimmer polish on them or color.
I've never had acrylic tips, just my own.
Ugh... I think this is the one beauty category I overlook... I've never had my nails done... I try to keep them fairly short (I can't type when they start getting long) and I rarely paint them... if I do it's usually black on the fingers and dark blue on the toes...
I have a pretty shade of pink somewhere... I use that on my toes during the summer when I may just toss on flipflops without thinking... it's close enough of a nude-pink that if it does chip it doesn't look horrendous and I don't have to fix it right that moment... as opposed to the blue which is fairly obvious when I need to redo it.
I never pay attention to my nails really... trim and file them once a week... I'm sorta rough with them so polish doesn't last but maybe a day if I'm careful... and I guess you can say I missed the girly-gene when it comes to my nails... I just can't interest myself in them.
I used to do them when I was little though... I think because it was the closest thing to makeup I was allowed to wear outside the house...
I saw an add a while back for those nail pens... been somewhat curious about those... I'd like to paint some plaid or checkered print on my nails maybe...
I remember the prenatal vitamin dragon lady nail thing. It had the same effect on my hair. Both grow fast naturally so the vitamins just made it that much worse.
I tend to keep my nails polished high gloss clear. Try as I might, I can't do gloves for washing and cleaning. I have 0 tolerance for chips. You'll really only see color on my nails when I'm going out in the evening to an "event."
My toes, on the other hand, are always in step with the colors of the season.
My 12 year old Girlie is quite the artist and loves to do little pictures on my nails. I understand that later today (she's home sick) I'll be getting a different fruit on each nail. LOL One week it was flowers another each nail looked like a slice of watermelon.
I always forget I've been "painted" when I'm out in public. I get some interesting looks.
"what goes around, it comes around. And you'll be coming DOWN"
I can't do chips either. They drive me nuts, which is why I probably hardly ever paint my nails.
chipping is just an excuse to remove the old and try a new color! LOL
~No pressure, no diamonds.~
Maybe when I graduate from school, and I'm not deprived of sleep... lol yeah that's an excuse on my part. I'm just too damn lazy.
i hear that! i am cramming my nail time in now before my restless and sleepless nights come with the baby. after that it could be MONTHS before i get time to paint my nails. i will have to sneak out of the house when daddy is home and run for the salon! LOL speaking of which.... my toes are getting harder to reach. that stinks.

thats so neat! how fun! i bought dried mini flowers for nails on ebay. they are flat and they come in all different shapes and colors. last night when i was looking i also found fruit slices. i think they are made out of clay or something but they are very tiny and almost flat. pretty and festive for spring!
Have you tried Orly's Bonder? When I paint my nails, the polish always chips within a day or 2, and I'd rather have naked nails than a sloppy manicure, too. This stuff works fairly well, I can usually get 4-5 days out of a manicure if I use it, even when I was still waitressing!!! It's a base coat, and it dries a little sticky, so the polish doesn't peel quite so easily.

She heard about a place people were smilin', they spoke about the Red Man's way and how they loved the land...
I will have to try it. The whole chipping thing drives me insane. Thanks for the tip.
#1 rule to the women/female's in my family: toe's always polished if you are wearing sandals. while i prefer to see the toes match the hands in polish color, there is a time of year i go against the grain and that is spring & summer when i tend to wear more french manicures & spring color pedicures. on monday i said good bye to seasonal winter reds and hello to 'cajun shrimp' OPI.
the cajun shrimp color sounds fab! mini picked out my latest toe nail color. i love it. its a pink/peach color. for two shes got great taste! shes really into her toe and finger nails lately. its so cute! i think im going to bring her with me this weekend for a pedi. i hate going bymyself. and not to be offensive but..especially if i am not in on the conversation between the employees. =) i still feel awekward.
has anyone tried those press on nails for toes? my friend has them (shes trying to cut down on expenses) and they look so pretty. anyone recommend a type/brand?
never attempted the press on for toes. however, i am a freak about toe nail length and come h3ll or high-water, they must all be exactly the same. so when they are not, i absolutely do not go shorter to match them. i get *really embarrassed to admit this* acrylic tips. yes. i need to have them all match in length and width, etc. *therapy won't cure this need*
cajun shrimp is an amazing color that takes on red, melon, orange, and pink tones. matches well with all colors so a red dress or shirt is not out of the question. the color takes on the tone of the garment. here are 2 examples of the same color, and yes...lighting does make a difference:
<-- pink/melon ish
red/tomato ish -->
love it!! love it!! and dont be embarrassed....thats a norm around here too. the tips on the toes. (thats why my friend switched to press ons...tips were getting expensive on top of the pedis) im telling ya you have HAVE to have hott toes on the beach!!!!
I love french pedicures. Especially in the winter. :) I dont care for a second that I am wearing boots. But then again, I love my feet. Occasionally I will ask for a flower or something on the big toes, but any tiny jewel they put on there rarely lasts long.
My fingernails are usually naked except for a sheer pink gloss with short but clearly visible tips.
I always pay attention if nails are taken care of. They are kind of like teeth, to me.
love the 'teeth' reference. clearly noticeable if not taken care of! every sunday morning after his shower, husband of mine sits down and goes over every nail: clip, file, and buff. then a cuticle massage. i love that about him. he also digs pedicures. something we like to do together when out running errands.
KEEP him!!! lol
