Hi,
Just wondering how to delete an iMessage from multiple devices? for example if I have an iPhone 4s and my partner has an iPad and my kid has an iPod. Any iMessage I receive is being recieved by all devices. when I delete the message on my iPhone, would that automatically delete the message on the iPad and the iPod as well or would I need to do it individually each time?

You can't. You have to delete them on each seperate device.

Deleting messages on one device does not remove them from the other devices.

Re: iOS6 iMessage Caller ID
Is it possible to disable I-message in an iPAD without the Ipad physically in front of you? I return my Ipad 4 and i did not reset or log off my I Message in the Ipad. The I-message is link with my Iphone 5, so every time someone msg me its will also send it to the Ipad. I've been looking for way to disable The I-message on the ipad for a few weeks now. thank you you, if you can help.

If you returned it to Apple, they will wipe it, but if you are still concerned just change your iCloud Password.

There is no "delete all messages from iMessage" option. The closest thing to this is from the main list of messages, tap "Edit", then hit the round, red button on the left on each message thread/discussion, one at a time. This lets you delete entire conversations at a time.

Re: How do I remove iMessages from appearing on multiple devices
I have managed to hit a button that means my messages are shared on my daughter's iphone. How do I stop this happening? She is not old enough for a credit card so I do similar to above, have her get an icloud account?

Re: deleting a iMessage on multiple devices

You would have to touch each device and delete each message. Might be a good idea to disable iMessages or get each of them their own (free) iCloud account for iMessaging. i share my iTunes account with my 9 year old on his iPad so i can buy him games, but he has his own iCloud account for iMessages.

Re: deleting a iMessage on multiple devices

They are usually the same, and they can be the same but they dont have to be the same..But they are kinda the same.. clear as mud, right?
When you setup just the iCloud account you dont have to add a credit card unless/until you want to buy something. So your iTunes account can be configured on the devices for buying things, and a different account (icloud or itunes or apple ID) can be added just for iMessages.

Re: deleting a iMessage on multiple devices
that makes sense now. I other thing I needed to clarify is about iMessage caller ID. After the iOS6 release, iMessage devices do not need to use the same called ID for the messages to be shared across multiple devices is it? I remember that in iOS 5, only devices that share the same caller ID (i.e., same e-mail address) get the iMessage across multiple devices. how does it work now? is it just enough if you use the same iTunes account to share iMessages between all devices?

iOS6 iMessage Caller ID

That's kinda right..
As long as you can "receive at" all the possible email addresses or phone numbers on all devices, and as long as CallerID on all devices is the in the "receive at" of all devices, then you are OK.. for the sake of simplicity on you and the reciever, it's easier if you have caller ID set the same on all devices.. For me and all my devices, i choose my iCloud email as my caller ID.

FYI - it was bascially the same on iOS5 - the only difference is that now on iOS6 you can associate a an iPhone phone number with non iphones (like iPads and Macs) .. this way if someone sent a message to your phone number instead of an email address, you can see it on all devices.

Re: iOS6 iMessage Caller ID
Thanks very much. that was very informative as well as interesting to know. So, can i assume precisely that nothing else has changed with iMessages EXCEPT that apple has added on extra feature where we can add a phone number to non-iphone device?

Absolutly not!!
Who knows what kind of hidden tweaks and changes Apple has snuck in! The only way to know for sure how something is going to work is to do it and test it.. then test it again. If you arent sure, ask (here, or Google, etc), try, test, test, then test again.
