Re: My Touchpad Stopped Working....
We aren't retarded, we are actually quite smart. Sometimes we need a little help with some things. I have just about tried everything to get the touchpad on my notebook working again, but nothing has worked so far. I am NOT retarded. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact!

Re: My Touchpad Does Not Work
I think he is referring to the people too stupid or lazy to bother reading the manual or learning how to use their laptop. Of course there are others who may have done that, but the keyboard is just plain broken. It seems that the majority of the people with this particular problem never bothered to read the manual..

Re: My Touchpad Stopped Working....
just rebuilding a gatway laptop. clean install of windows and tryed both alps and synaptics driver and f6 with no luck. checked cable connection too and it is well connected and no visible broken connections. Could it be another driver? one thats not the two i specified above? the model is gatway nv73a.

Re: My Touchpad Stopped Working....
My touchpad stopped working so I tried the F6 and it still doesn't work. I'm working off of a mouse, which I find better but my laptop Gateway is not even a year old.

Re: Touchpad Not Working
So glad I found this link. Could't figure out why my touch pad was no longer working on my Gateway laptop. F6 did the trick! I suspect that my cat accidentally stepped on the key and turned off the functionality. I've got a silicone skin protector to keep cat dander out of my keyboard, but it doesn't prevent kitty typing when my back is turned.

Re: Touchpad Stopped Working
Omg thank you for this comment! F6 is my favorite F key now! I searched the web high and low trying to figure out what I had done to my laptop!! Even though I feel like an idiot for not knowing this in the first place, I was relieved when F6 turned my laptop back into a LAPtop again...instead of trying to use it by viewing a TV screen that was connected by HDMI and typing with a wireless keyboard and mouse pad!
