32-bit to 64-bit

So this may be a stupid question... Is it possible to convert a 32-bit system into a 64-bit system?  Is it worth it?  If you need more details about my laptop, let me know.

You have to have a processor that supports that type of operating system, so yes we would need to know more about your laptop :)

The CPU needs to support 64-bit. By the way, why do you want to go to 64-bit? Let me tell you a horror story, my buddy thought 64 bit is faster and faster it is, but at what cost and expense? MS Office 2007 doesn't even work on Windows XP 64 yet, and some of the Adobe products don't yet either. Basically, not all apps will work so be prepared for that.

That is a great question to me. I don't think you can convert them. Some you can do it on. Some you can't. There is a lot that you have to do to convert it. If you have a newly supported system intended for 64-bit operation, you might need to load a patch to ensure that your system can run in 64-bit mode. A 32 bit is great for what I do. I just need to know what kind of computer you have. What year it is? What kind of processer & stuff? But then I can tell you how to do it. There is a lot to it. HBT
