40yrs ago man landed on the moon. Do you think the space program is worth the cost it takes to keep it alive in today's economy?

I said other because honestly I don't know enough to make an informed decision. My shallow understanding is that we benefit from some tech developed for the space program as well as during missions. That's what I understand the justification for the program. What I don't know is what tech exactly and whether or not I give a d@mn about it. I would have to think the over all answer is no but I would want to investigate it more before I was pinned down to just one answer. 

I don't want to die without any scars. 

Personally I said I don't care... only because I know today's research might benefit us in the future... all research and technology has to start somewhere... I just don't see it benefiting us in our lifetimes.... unless a giant meteor is headed straight for us and our only option is to send people in space to drill an explosive into it to blow it to pieces before it causes Armageddon *cue Aerosmith*

But learning about our Moon and other planets probably won't do me much good... although the idea of no gravity seems cool... I would like a house with a zero-gravity button... I hope that's one of the things they're working on...
