What do you see in the painting?

This is my all time favorite painting.  It is by Joan Miro.  I had the privilege of having this painting hung in the office of my last job.  I don't think I'll ever be able to afford such expensive artwork, but if I did, I would SO buy this painting!  I will always remember it and staring at it for hours.

And funny, I totally don't see what the title indicates. (I will post later and say what I see, but I'm curious to know if others "see" the same things)

i love love love this piece. it would fit nicely in my motif -  i would purchase it in a heartbeat. okay, here is what i see initially:

the light blue in the top of the painting is the sky.

the orange/yellow is the city at night.

the green area is trees/foliage.

the white thin lines represent buildings.

the thick dark brown siloutte is a duck profile facing a person wearing an asian straw hat.

i want to look again in the morning. i heard that if you view a painting at night, it will be different in the day light. so, i'll put it to the test!

Wow, I so did not consider the background.  And I never thought of the Ansian straw hat.

But the duck (complete with feathers) was one of the things.

I see a duck peeking over some grass and rocks. He is looking toward a boat. And I feel like it can be an optical illusion and two things far away from each other can appear on the eye level when viewing at the right angle.

well i am still seeing the same as last night. but i love it. i was looking up more of Miro's work and found this piece at an art brokerage house. for a cool $21k, it could be mine. a bargain from the original $35k.
