accuracy of find my iphone
how accurate is find my iphone app? If two devices are both showing as static in a particular location, then start moving is it possible that the information is wrong?

Re: accuracy of find my iphone

On all of my devices (3 iPads, and 4 iPhones over the last couple of years) Find my iPhone has been very accurate.. Usually within a few yards, sometimes within a few feet.. However your mileage may vary depending on many things like where you are located and the weather. So yes, it is possible that the information is wrong.

Does it make any difference that both the iphone and the ipad were saying they were static, and then a short while later following a route in one particular place? is it possible that they were in fact on a main road travelling about 40 miles away. I'm mostly interested in the fact that both devices were saying they were in one place, how likely is it that they would both say that if the information was wrong? The weather was clear and fairly built up location.

Probably not very likely that they both said they were in one place, then both said they were moving then both said they ended up in another place.

Find my phone worked for us - loaded the app a couple of times which slightly changed the position but confirmed the area and the use of the sound mode made it easy!! Yay, found the phone inside a pillow slip in the wardrobe. Could have been there for months!!
