Acquaintance blocked me/deactivated his account on messenger a year ago. May have impersonated me.

Looking through my old messages, I realized that one seemingly friendly, funny, and likable classmate from college, with whom I truly thought I was on good terms, had either blocked me or deactivated his account a year ago; I suspect that he did it because I occasionally poked fun at his tendency to fill his statuses with needless obscenities, although I did clarify that I was merely joking, and promptly deleted those replies to avoid any real confrontation.
I wasn’t worried by his apparent blocking or deactivation until I found my name at the top of our chat window, rather than his, right next to the generic grey and white Facebook image of a person that the site employs for users who don’t have profile photos. If I’m chatting with this person, shouldn’t his name display on top of the conversation in messenger? As I was trying to access his profile, I accidentally deleted the conversation and can’t find it among the archives. Now, I can’t find or report him. Did he deactivate his account or block me? Has his account been disabled? Is he even impersonating me? How do I deal with him? Should I just ignore him, because he didn’t use any of my photos, no one has confronted me about this yet, and I’m still on Facebook to confirm my own identity?

Who cares, and why should you care?
Ignore it and move on with your life! Surely you have more important things to worry about?!
