Ay yi yi! Help with powerbook G4, please!!!

Ok. I bought a powerbook used.
It was working fine and I had already used it and whatnot, but was going to restore some of the basic software.
I don't know what I did, but it's bad! Whenever I turn it on now it makes the turn on hummmmm..., shows the apple for a second, and then gives me a bunch of script, most of which I don't understand, but it says something like:

panic(cpu 0): Unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerBook6,4"

and:

No debugger configured - dumping debug information

Can anyone help me?
Big trouble in little China!
Thanks.
sincerely,
doofus

not so fast there, buddy

nevermind.
first off, it didn't crash. somehow i screwed something up when i was restoring the OS software.
second, all it took was a call to the apple support line and they got everything back in tip top shape.
sorry to burst your bubble.
macs are still great.

(and, thanks, geek. it is the "C" button.)

This thread is a bit old, but I have the exact same problem as you. I have a used PowerBook G4 and when I try to reformat with a Tiger OS X CD, I get that error

panic(cpu Innocent: Unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerBook6,4"

when I try to boot from the CD.

Do you remember what Apple said to you?

Thanks,

Haven't you Heard?

Apples are disposable and a new one will be out the following week, so just toss the one you have and plop down the $$$ for the newest version :p

But Seriously, go to the platforms website and look for a Mac compatible driver to download and install.

Alternatively go to the Nearest Apple Store and Have a MAC genius (Genius Bar)help you, they should have access to the drivers in Question
