American Pro Energy calls
American Pro Energy called me today probably for about the 500th time in 6 months. I let the guy talk, wasted his time as much as I could then finally told him that my electric bill was only $25/month. He was sad to inform me that I would not qualify for the great things he wanted to sell me. I then said "good! Does that mean you will stop calling me?!". He said yes, he would put me on their Do No Call List. I told him that I had been told that many times before, and even told that they did not have a Do Not Call List, but he assured me that they did. He also told me that he would report all of my complaints to his supervisor. He was very polite and professional, unlike every other person from American Pro Energy that has ever called me before. Time will tell if he was lying to me or not.

"I have solar panels already". Keep telling them that. They keep calling. 40+ calls.

American Pro Energy calls
I read somewhere that all of the government subsidies for solar panel installations end in 2015. if that's the case it will no longer make as much financial sense for a lot of homeowners to buy (or lease) solar panel installations. This will hopefully put an end to the nonstop calls from American Pro Energy, who has called my number at least 100 times this year.

Re: American Pro Energy won't stop calling me
Same as previous complaints. Robo-calls several times per week from 510-925-144X, each one a different last number, sometimes ID'd from Lafayette, CA. Today it was "Brandi" who wanted to save me $ on my utility bill. When I told her her information was wrong and to stop calling me, she hung up. I'm on Do-Not-Call but it doesn't seem to stop these scammers.

Re: American Pro Energy scam calls
They call me on at least a weekly basis. Every time that I tell them I'm on the do not call list or that I'm not interested, they hang up. Same as when I tell them to give me a supervisor. This has been going on for months. The people are rude and just keep calling. It's always from a 408-290-XXXX number, but they change it every time, so I can't just block it. If I could find them, I'd give them a piece of my mind.

Solar panel sales calls
Between American Pro Energy, "GE" and one other company name, I have gotten 1-2 calls per day, every day, for the last 7 (week) days.

Re: American Pro Energy won't stop calling me

I do not see how they can be legally calling people. If you have done business with them, then yes, or if their business is within 50 miles of your residence, then perhaps yes. But I am seeing so many complaints from areas no where near where this company is located, pursuant to their website. I've called and written directly to the company and have received no response, so I don't know what their deal is.

The calls are from a call center, every person who has called speaks clear english. Many of the calls start out by saying SDG&E has provided them with our phone number and we are on the eligible list for solar. (SDG&E has said they never give out our information and they will report it to FTC for me.) I've told one caller we already purchased a system and he started telling me I was lying, then when I pushed back, he hung up. Another time I asked for a supervisor, I could hear the others laugh and giggle, so I knew he was no one. But it tells me, they are likely young adults who feel empowered because the call center is a load of truck numbers, meaning that one number belongs to them, but the call center owns perhaps hundreds of numbers that "trunk" off the main one, so you'll never likely find the original number. American Pro Energy has a sparse website and it looks like they are located in or near Culver City, CA . I've called to see if I get a call back, so far nothing.

I will be notifying the FTC and California Attorney General's office myself, because I just don't see how they can get away with harassment, regardless of the Do Not Call laws. I refuse to change my phone number, one that I've had for nearly 15 years because they refuse to stop calling. I am determined to see that they remove us from their list. I will also double check the Do Not Call Registry to make sure our phone numbers are listed there. If they are not, I will re-register and this company, legally, has 30 days after I've "registered" to remove us from the list. http://ag.ca.gov/donotcall/faq.php

It's not just American Pro Energy! It's a dozen places all calling to sell solar panels or new windows to us "pre qualified" home owners.
