Any Craigslist Users Here?

There are many eBay users here, I am one. I also turn to Craigslist.org when I want to keep it local. Usually larger or heavier items that will out price the cost of the item due to size or weight alone. Anyone else use Craigslist in their area?

I've never used Craigslist, I'm a big fan of freecycle.com myself

hey - i'm going to check it out. never heard of it. also learned about angieslist.com this past weekend. for the single mom's or peeps who need a handy man to fix or repair things at home, this site actually lets you "rate" the work done; so you can check the reputation of the person and type of work they do. pretty nifty site as well.

Last time I looked into Angie's List, there was an annual fee to be able to read the reviews.  That was ages ago, do you know if they've changed it?

you are indeed correct! $59 per year. i'm surprised to learn this, especially since there are dozens of similar sites and services like it that do not charge. guess they're not too worried about it.

Wow, more expensive than I remembered.  That's a lot of money to shell out for something you can get for free elsewhere, at least, in my opinion, but I guess if you're new to an area and don't know anybody to get actual word of mouth referrals, it might be worth it.

Re: Craigslist & Angieslist
I went to a trade show and there was a angieslist rep there. During my conference there were breakout sessions and one that I went to was the angieslist one. The rep was very friendly and explained how we could list our businesses for free. One thing that also bothered me was that we were told that is some areas that angieslist is free to get into that market (alot of areas) and that we should register our employees to boost our ratings ;) Then we were told we should network with some of the other companies there to help boost each others ratings (falsely).
xlnt feedback & thank you for it. i really have to rethink the actual need for an angie's list type of site, especially when craigslist has a "services" and "employment" area. surely a handyman/person could be hired from the craigslist site.

Ahhh, Craigslist........a huge favorite of my daughter. I had come across it years ago and not paid much attention to it, until my daughter mentioned it last year. They sell and buy and give away a lot there.

I hadn't realized before that it was also city specific. That was nice.

She's always calling, saying Hey Mom, I just found this or that for free.

Her last "find" was a household of free, very nice furniture and various items that a woman just down the road from me needed to get rid of because she was moving and didn't have room. All of it was free.

I then got my dining room table and chairs back from my daughter.

If I was standing on a fish, I'd slip and fall......

Craigslist is the best! I especially like the "Free" section, not to get free stuff but to see all of the weird things people are giving away for free. Usually its just big furniture but sometimes they put up the oddest stuff.

My entertainment center was bought from a Craigslist add. It was a great deal for only 10 bucks!

I don't think you can go wrong with it.
