Bing vs. The Wave

Ding. Ding. Ding! It's on. Microsoft vs. Google.

Today Microsoft went public in launching it's 'Bing' campaign. Certainly hope this one is better than the not so popular 'Live Search'

Just hours later, Google comes forward with it's 'The Wave' announcement.

Compete much?

While these two services are NOT 100% identical, Google clearly did not want to be left out of the spot light today. That's like showing up to a wedding wearing white!

I'm rather enjoying their cut throat like style. The more features they roll out and go neck-in-neck with, the more we benefit.

Anyone else check these stories out today?

Let's not forget about WolphramAlpha.

You can also add Wolfram to Firefox's search engine list.

Re: Bing vs. The Wave

all three of these, Bing, WolframAlpha and Wave are totally different.. Although it IS funny how Google and MS made their announcements and the same time, as if to one-up each other.. Kinda like the Palm Pre and (expected) iPhone announcement later this month

Bing is just another search ( as far as i can tell) better than MS's previous search, Live, but not as good as Google search

WolframAlpha is a "knowledge" tool - hard to put into words and describe.. kinda like a giant smart-calculator. Want to know how much an acre of water, 1-inch deep would weigh? Just type into WolframAlpha "1 inch acre water weight and it will tell you

Google's upcoming WAVE is a communication-platform. Google touts it as "..if email were invented today".. (did you know that email is 40 years old!).. not sure how this one will catch on..

If you have a spare hour and 20 minutes you can watch Google's demo of Wave.. the first 20 minutes or so gives a good overview of what Wave can do..

Re: Bing vs. The Wave

SO i happened to be checking something with IE, and decided to test out Bing. It blows goats. The results it returned werent even remotely relevant.
