My Geo

This car is not even mine, it is my paps, but for some reason i love this car to death (as a material possession not like a girlfriend). i dont know why, but almost every day, i find myself going out to the car, starting it, and just sitting in it, letting it run for a little (this car is not inspected, so im in the middle of fixing it) and like i said its not even mine, but so far ive dumped 100$ into it, replaced the brakes, and the filter tube to the gas tank, am i over obsessed with this car ? and one more question, ive replaced the brakes on the car, but for some reason, its still stopping like the brakes are bad, any ideas as to why ?

this is what the car looks like, thats not my car, just a picture of a 1990 geo prizm, and mine has like this bronze beige color to it

watch out for rust. I'd get the frame coated/plated/jacketed/sleeved with *something* to inhibit rust. esp important if you live in the American North East...... I'm told that Harbor Freight has some sort of phosphate that will turn the steel black, but prevent it from rusting. I've thought about silver nitrate, since it's a relatively easy substance to use for electroplating...... but the phosphate might be an easier solution to implement. Not sure what to tell you about the brakes.

oh ok, so maybe i should bleed the lines then, cause even after i replaced the brakes, the car is stopping lazily, even when i put the pedal to the floor,

every time husband replaces the brakes, "we" bleed the lines. even on the boat trailer, which we did last week. i then learned how critical it was that no air be left inside. i could feel the difference when i pulled the boat around the neighborhood (testing the brakes).

all i replaced was the brake pads in the front, the ones in the back are find, and my pap told me tht i shuldnt have 2 bleed the lines,

did you do the brake replacement yourself? sometimes if you do not bleed the brakes properly or thoroughly, air can get in the line and you will not stop/perform like is should.
