Reachin' out with both hands, I gotta feel that kick inside

I felt my nephew move today!!!  OK, so technically it was a head-butt, not a kick, but who's keeping track?  OMG, it was so cool and so gross at the same time.  My sister's belly is stretched tight, hard as a rock, and the little guy apparently likes to hang out upside down.  As we were driving home from the supermarket, she told me if i wanted to feel him move, I should pull over, he was awake.  So I did, and placed my hands on the top and bottom of her stomach.  I couldn't feel anything near the top by his feet, but the bottom of her belly was moving and jiggling, and poking my hand!  It was so alien-like, watching her belly move, seemingly of it's own accord, yet so amazing to know that what I saw and felt against my hand was my nephew, alive and healthy, just waiting to meet all of us.  Two months and 2 days, I can't wait!

yes! baby 'Gwen.' <-- for now it's Gwen. that could always change.

we're pretty excited.

those booties are adorable & i want!! email the cost. i'm in!

bella22 finds out the gender of her bun-in-the-oven on june 11th.

Coley's having a girl?  Awesome, now I have someone to make these for, yay!  When are they due?

"For we are always what our situations hand us, it’s either sadness or euphoria"

too cute!!  I want to feel too! :)

I don't know how or why he's upside down, but it's a good, good thing, because it keeps his little toenails far away from that delicate, exposed sac of blood vessels.  Regardless, I sing "Bat-Baby" to him, to the tune of Adam West's Batman theme.

lol the pulling over, too cute.

That is so exciting!  Upside down, awwww.  Little vampire?  Taking after auntie Trin and AE ;)

Head-butt, kick, leg drop, it all counts! Omg he's almost here :o

I haven't even tested out the celebration jellybean shape cake yet!  I get right on it!

coleybooop is expecting a girl. had her cerclage on tuesday. needed to sew that baby in!

bella22 hasn't found out yet what she is carrying.

both due within a week or so of each other.

both will body cast. can't wait!

No :(  I wanted to make a photo-flip book of her belly growing, but she never took pics for that, either.  She's boring, sometimes.

"For we are always what our situations hand us, it’s either sadness or euphoria"

is she going to do the pregger belly body casting?

Some of the images have been amazing, but remember, due to her complications, she's getting a slightly higher tech image than your standard ultrasound, since they have to be able to clearly make out the sac of blood vessels.  Honestly, the photograph of his face was kind of like cloud gazing, you really had to use your imagination to fill in the blanks.  The foot, on the other hand, was clear as day.

medical imaging & technology has surely come along way since when I was carrying. i love the 3-D and 4-D images the sonogram is able to capture. many doc offices offer the pics on DVD/CD now. baby's first pics!

Now that my sister's parked at my parent's house for a couple of months, I'm sure I'll be seeing more of her, and of his dancing and rippling.  I can't wait!

I LOVE that feeling. When my bestie was pregnant if she fell asleep you could watch her belly move and see the baby turning and kicking. Now her baby is almost a year old. I am glad to be an "aunt" by those standards since she and I are both only kids and have been friends since 10. She's awesome. YOU are awesome and you'll make an amazing aunt.

~~I B CUTE! Don't argue with me I know I'm cute!~~

Since my parents only have my sis and I, and her hubby's an only child, I'm the only one!  I plan on being the cool Aunt that gives him all the crazy loud and messy toys his parents would never want him to have, lol!  I still can't believe how in love with him I am, and he's not even here yet!

I haven't gone to any of her ultrasounds, the timing just hasn't worked out, her appointments almost always seem to coincide with me having to take Dad somewhere.  She's been sending me all the pictures, though.  Her most recent one is really cool, you can clearly make out his foot, and in another shot, you can sort of see his little face.

It was the odd, rippling effect that kinda gave me the willies, SO strange looking, just wiggling and jiggling all by itself.  This was the first time I was able to feel him move, he usually goes back to sleep by the time my sister says "Hey, feel this!", So of course I pulled over, I didn't want to miss it again, lol!

yes the feeling still amazes me. its the most crazy invasion and wonderful experience in the world. then when they come out, yes its sorta lonely and you feel like part of your body is literally missing but to look at the little face and know thats what was inside and what you created is equally amazing. and definately go to the ultrasound if you can. i have always vrought like 10 people with me. (my obgyn loves me) half of them cant really tell whats what until they do the heart. then its real. thats when i usually start tearing up.

congratulations again lady! the bond i have with my nieces and nephews is wonderful! its great to be the cool and fun one! ha

This was really fun to read.  Your sister and your nephew are really lucky to have you.  It is SO alien-like, isn't it.  It feels cool and disturbing at the same time.  But fun!  I LOVE that you pulled over to feel him giving you a header.  That's great!  Thanks for sharing.  Made me smile.

awe, lady.c! i love that you are so into the 'aunt' scene in this pregnancy. feeling the baby kick from the outside is just as cool as the mom feeling it on the inside. what i missed most after all of my pregnancies was the kicking & movement. hours after delivery...not feeling anything was just weird!

have you gone w/sis to any ultra sound screenings yet?
