blogging for money

Okay guys, i need some help here. I've decided to do some blogging for money and there are certain steps i need to take so my blog can be posted. I'm a little confused so if you can also explain as we go along, that'd be good. "The most important thing to consider when trying to add this feature to your blog is you must have the ability to add a line of code to your blog's html. This means you need to be able to ftp your file to your site or have the ability to modify your code through the blog administration. Such as WordPress's Presentation Theme Editor" okay, this is my 1st confusing thing. now, i thought i could do this through Google, but i don't think i can. i dunno, can someone please help me?...juliek

What code are you trying to add?  If you're going to use Google Adsense advertising, and you use Blogger.com, they have a 'widget' that integrates it real easily.

Hi Hubby, Maybe I'm not being clear. Let me see if this makes more sense. I signed up with PayperPost. They are the ones that require the snippet of code to be added when I open my blog's html. I'm confused how the blog gets from Blogspot to Payperpost??!!   Also, do I have to use ftp or can I just add the code at the spot where it says it needs to go. In other words, I can view page source and find the place where the code has to go, is it all right for me to just put it there, or would I be complicating some file in my computer? I hope this is clear enough? oh yeah, and the code is <script type="text/javascript" src="http://tinyurl.com/2b5ojn"></script> juliek

Re: blogging for money

ok - if all you have to do is add that java script it will all be done 'inside' Blogspot (blogger.com) - it really has nothing to do with your computer.

if you are supposed to add it into each individual post, you should be able to write your blogspot post, then click "HTML" or "HTML VIEW" or "SOURCE" (i'm not really sure what it says) to put your screen into HTML editing mode - then, scroll down thru all the coding in your post (you will see the words you typed mixed in with the codes), and paste in the script-code wherever you want it.

IF you are supposed to add this code to the 'template', or make it show on every page/every-post, that's a bit more complicated - you would have to either add a "widget" or edit the HTML of your blogger "template" and add the script-code in the right place.

either way, i can't imagine that Pay Per Post does not have a help-page on exactly how to add the script to blogspot/blogger.com blogs - did you read thru their help/forums ?

Re: blogging for money

Hi Guys, I think that I prolly don't make myself very clear when I'm trying to describe my predicament. I know that it's not going to actually damage my computer, I mean would it screw up how the files are transfigured or whatever. I didn't know if you can just go into someone's program and add pieces of code without permission.

I did read thru the literature for PayPerPost and it was there that I was having a problem understanding. I'm going to look at the stuff Anime has found for me, which I really appreciate. Anyway, thanks for the input, Anime and Hubby. I'll keep you posted...julie

Using Pay Per Post with Blogger

Blogspot/blogger.com are created so that you can add code/scripts, etc, so there should be no worry at all - the hard part is knowing how/where to do it..

Some of those links about FTP, transferring files, etc may not apply, so don't get yourself too confused.

Please guys, this is important to me. I mean 30 reads and nobody except Hubby has any ideas? Even if it's a link to a site that can help, maybe?!...juliek and thank you Hubby for your feedback!

THIS SITE might be something to read over... it's not EXACTLY your transfer... but it might help some...

Maybe glance at This Site as well...

Annnnd... take a looksee at this site too.... about a little less than halfway down it talks about issues that might occur with ftp...

I really don't know what exactly you need for help... but I figured those might be some places to start... or at least get an idea...

I just googled things like 'how to blog for money, ftp' and 'blogspot ftp'

I'm not sure if it's an either or type thing... but I think blogspot has it's own ftp manager...

I apologise if I'm of no help... or if these links don't have anything to do with what you're asking....
