I like the one he bought.  My ex was obsessed with the whole black/white art.  Not for me :)

Haha. You kids crack me up. I got that mask at Wild Adventures, a theme park in Valdosta, Georgia. It was divided up among different themes, and one of them was Africa. I also have a tiki man that 4ft high.... Hehe. I'll just have to put my room on eBay. I have vases from Egypt and Greece, stone statues, Russian dolls and vodka... I have quite the collection. Haha.

But thank you both. I've never thought about selling my pieces, because they were just done for enjoyment.

For Tuna, let me try to explain exactly what I did while I sort through lost photographs of long past: I dunno if you'll have to break your mold or not. If you keep it white, especially with the material you got in your kit, it makes it look like marble and natural, like ancient greek statues. I personally like the white color, as I enjoy classical art. I also took a glaze and make one set a green color... And the vase that I mentioned, I did half black and half white, dividing the face to show the different feelings we have inside. Maybe that gives a little info....

this is fabulous 'rays! very informative. had to let husband of mine read it before i replied. advice is greatly appreciated by us both.

i too am fond of classical art, and husband of mine especially so. so the natural plaster look would be fitting for the sitting room i have been designing and furnishing the past week or so. if we painted it a high gloss black, well then it would be better suited in our family room or game room. so more than likely it will remain the natural plaster look.

i cannot wait so get started and take pics. the pose i have in mind will require me to stand and twist a bit....or sit in high posture with a slight turn of my shoulders. wish me luck!

thanks for everything and do not hesitate to post if you have more input.

Ooo. I dunno which I would like more. The black would be really cool. But if your blending, and white goes best, then I agree 100%, especially if your a family of classic art lovers.

Good luck! In my case, we let the plaster almost totally harden before it went on my face, so there was very little holding. But if worst comes to worst, then you can always venture to the craft store and buy a big box of plaster... Then the fun begins!

if i'm sitting...i can go the distance. i imagine it will put quite a bit of weight on my upper body. i need to remove my bellybutton piercing!

Plaster is HEAVY. So prepare accordingly. And yes, yes, yes. You don't want the piercing to get stuck in the plaster, then have it rip out when taking it off... That would blow.

I think the glossy black would be nice, but it depends on the color scheme in the sitting room. Do we get to see the final results?
