Re: Burning DVD's????

Before you can burn it, you have to decrypt it, THEN you can use just about any DVD burning software (didnt a burning program come with your computer/burner??) DVDShrink used to do a good job for making personal backup copies of the DVD's that you own, but I have not used it for years and don't know if it will works or if there is anything better.

Remember that making copies of copyrighted DVD's for anything other than personal backup use is a violation of the law and the RIAA/MPAA will probably send men in dark suits to your house to drag you away if you even try..

Hmmmm!!  Men in dark suits - that's scary.  I wonder if they went to Charlie Pride's house and picked him up when all those people who bought and paid for one of his albums couldn't play them on whatever they used to play such albums on at home.  Man, when I buy something, I expect to be able to play it, and when I can't, whoever scammed me will receive more than just a piece of my mind.

Sometimes you need to use DVD Decrypter first, before you can use DVDShrink to rip and copy it. It has to do with copyrights and file protections. Thats what i heard anyways...

Re: Burning DVD's????

You can follow the advice on the other posts about how to get it decrypted first, I can't get into that nor do I want to since your DVD is probably 99.9% packed with a copyright. But if you need a free burning software, go download Image Burn, go look it up on Google. I was thinking why don't you just let your friend borrow the DVD? It will save you both a lot of time, a blank DVD, and electricity. Good Luck.

its not too bad. i use decrypter dvdfab and shrink. it took me a few to get through everything the first time but now its a breeze. the whole process is what takes a while. at least on my pc. might be just my ole butt pc.

You have a butt pc? *wink*

The process does take awhile, at least thats what ive found. Its not terribly complicated, but it always took a good chuck of time to decrypt, then to shrink and finally to burn.

Here is a discussion about coping DVDs (and not just to mp4 format as the title implies)

Burnaware free is my personal favorite for burning.
