Can my new firewall be blocking my blocker

For about two months now I have been using Firefox to block myspace trackers. It has been working successfully. However, I just downloaded a new firewall called Sygate Personal Firewall and now I noticed that on my safeprofile.net tracker it is recognizing when I am on my page. So, unfortunately, this must mean that I am able to be tracked by other peoples trackers too. I'd like to know if there is a way that I can get my firewall to recognize the list on Adblock Plus or if this could possibly be another problem.

It's probably something else, i don't think a firewall could cause a firefox extension to stop working. My guess would be safeprofile has a new code that isn't on the filter list yet. Are you sure it's safeprofile.net and not safeprofile.com? If it's .net it's not on the list. I'd be interested to see the tracking code you're using in either case.

Edit: nevermind, i checked the site and they're using a new domain for their code: allyourinfo.org. I'll add it to the block list right away. Make sure to update your list. Thanks for alerting us :)

Um... Did you turn off Firefox Firewall? Did you turn off the Microsoft Firewall? Because Yes sometimes programs of the same nature can cancel each other out

Sygate? Never heard of it, but even the once great Norton takes "bribes" to allow "selected advertisers" through there defences.

It is quite possible that this Sygate has taken money ynder the table to let the offending tracker phish data thile the program looks the other way.

Only way to be sure is to unintall the Sygate, reinstall the Forefox and checjk to seeif the trackers are blocked, then if yes uninstall Firefox and install Sygate and if the trackers get through then you have a sell out on your hands.

I already found the problem, see my other post. I've had sygate myself and it's a good firewall.
