Change email in iCloud without losing info

All I did was change my email from ameritech.net to gmail in my Apple ID. Now I get log-in pop-ups for my i-Cloud using the OLD email address.

Is there any way I can access my current iCloud account WITHOUT pushing the "delete account"? Because, what I think it says is IF I delete my iCloud, I'll lose all my picture roll, Contacts and stuff currently on my iPhone4S. That just doesn't make sense.

Can someone clear the fog? THANKS for your HELP!

Re: Change email in iCloud without losing info

Removing an account from a device does not remove the data (pictures, contacts, anything) from iCloud, so it should be safe to delete the account(s ) from your device, then re-add and re-login to iCloud with the new email address.

BUT - as with any data (pictures, contacts, anything) that are important or that you care about, you should have it backed up in at least two different, validated places at all times.

I have an iPad i want to remove an iCloud email address because I'm getting spam email there but not on my gmail account. If I remove my iCloud account should I replace with a new iCloud account? Will it affect my iTunes and I books account and will i lose any books or music in them?

You dont need to fully remove or even stop using your iCloud account because of SPAM email.
Just turn off email (in your email account settings) for that iCloud account, and add/turn on email for your gmail account, and dont give anyone that icloud account email address to use anymore. Basically just dont use that email address anymore and use your Gmail instead.

If you were to try and remove the entire account, yes, it would affect all of your itunes and iBooks purchases, and you would lose everything you've bought.
