Oooh, this was really difficult when I got married. Dad's really into Doo Wop, so I wanted something from that genre. Problem is, every single song sings about romantic love, not exactly appropriate for dancing with Daddy. I was getting frustrated, and my sister was getting silly stupid, and suggested a song from "The Little Mermaid". Um, no, but that gave me an idea. I was able to find "When You Wish Upon a Star" from Pinnocchio, performed by "Little Anthony and the Imperials", a Doo Wop group. (Side note, I tried to find it online to give you a link, can't find their version, but I found a cover by Kiss, of all things....It's not good, but it makes me laugh) Anyway, maybe something from a movie you both enjoy?

If I was to dance with my father at my wedding it would probably be doo wop too, just like Lady C said. Because he's a huge fan. Or it would be an artist he and I both like.
My Girl
Isn't she lovely
You are so beautiful
The way you look tonight, that would be a tough one. Lots of good versions. I'd probably go with ol' blue eyes though :)
That's the direction I would want to go. Anywho, here are some links. uno, dos, tres.
I didn't want to ask my father, because that seemed a little silly. However maybe I'll talk with him and see if there is a particular song that reminds him of me.
Thank you for the sites ... I will look through them.

OMG!! I'm at work (& SO should not be on the computer ~L~), but I just heard "My Daughter's Eyes" by Martin McBride and it brought tears to my eyes! I don't even like country or pop-country, but what a wonderful song! Now I'm thinking I might want to dance to that.

That is such a beautiful song....I remember hearing when I was around 11 or 12 at church and it still makes me mushy when I hear it now. Excellent choice.
daddy's girl by red sovine sounds perfect for you here are the lyrics
I recall the night that you came into this world.
I couldn't believe the doctor when he said: "It's a little girl."
I said: "Now Doc, you must be wrong. You see I want a boy."
Then he laid you in my arms and my heart sang with joy.
(Daddy's Girl, Daddy's Girl,
(I'm the center of Daddy's world.
(I know I'm Daddy's number one,
(For he loves me like I was his son.
(Daddy's Girl.)
I recall the day I took you to a baseball game.
You brought along your baby doll and half its' baby things.
We sat there a-playin' house, while the Dodgers played the Braves.
And ev'ryone in the bleachers looked at us as if to say.
(Daddy's Girl, Daddy's Girl,
(I'm the center of Daddy's world.
(I know I'm Daddy's number one,
(For he loves me like I was his son.
(Daddy's Girl.)
I recall the day I took you on a fishin' trip,
You said: "Daddy won't that hook hurt the fishes' lip?"
And you said if they don't get air, those things in the can will die.
So we turned the worms all loose and chased some butterflies.
(Daddy's Girl, Daddy's Girl,
(I'm the center of Daddy's world.
(I know I'm Daddy's number one,
(For he loves me like I was his son. (Daddy's Girl)
I recall the day that your young man come to call.
Seems like only yesterday, you swam and played football.
But I know the time has come, that I must set you free.
But no matter where you are, you know what you are to me.
(Daddy's Girl, Daddy's Girl,
(I'm the center of Daddy's world.
(I know I'm Daddy's number one,
(For he loves me like I was his son.
(Daddy's Girl.)
To fade...
(Daddy's Girl, Daddy's Girl,
(I'm the center of Daddy's world.
(I know I'm Daddy's number one,
(For he loves me like I was his son.

Ah, I remember that movie. I think that's an adorable song, well done :)
I just remembered, that song reminds me so much of "cheek to cheek". Great dancing songs. <3 Very classic feel.
