I turned it on...
it says 1...then E (I have no color ink for it so I know why it does that) then 6
So I unplugged it, turn the computer off.
My drawing is black and white...so it should still scan but it's not...
I used it yesterday to print out some documents...but now it's not even scanning.
Sooo.. What does the manual say "6" means??
i don't have it. my parents lost it. :(
I guess we're getting another scanner...I had that one for four years....-sighs- plus I google the error code and found out that a lot of people have been having the same problem but nothing tells me how to fix it...I even downloaded am update version of the new driver/software...nothing.
According to the user manual, error code E6 does not exist.
http://www.retrevo.com/pdf/3373ag220/31/An+Error+Code+Is+Displayed+on+the+LED#q=Canon+MP210
But E16 does- it means you are out of ink and cannot use it without ink.
if this is true then why can't i just scan something? i don't need to print or anything...just want to scan my picture into my computer
I have no idea. Im just telling you what the manual says- click the link and you can read it for yourself.
Now it's saying:
E16 (Sorry I didn't see the 1...so yes you were right...E16)
Error code:2,114,0
(>_<) All I wanted to do was scan...LOL
I cant find "114" in the manual that AE posted a link to, but it says that any E,2 error means "an error requiring servicing might have occurred"... unplug the power cord for a while then plug it back in.. if you get the same error, take it in for service or throw it in the trash..
on page 45 there is a "E,1,6" error which means it's out of ink. It says you can press the stop/reset button for 5-seconds or longer which should clear the error, so that may help, but i'm not sure why no ink would have anything to do with scanning.
The manual does not say much at all about scanning problems and refers you to the "on screen" manual which i'm guessing is in the scanning-software.
