hi iv recently had a new head unit and speakers installed in my car. Iv got the pioneer app radio sph-da110 head unit, pioneer ts-a172ci component speakers for the front and pioneer ts-a1323i 3-way speakers for the rear. I have not been very impressed with the sound quality and I think this may be down to them being underpowered. I am planning on adding a sub and was thinking of one of the pioneer underseat subwoofers. But after reasearching on the internet I am getting the impression that the head unit I have got does not have sufficient power to power the front component speakers properly so im thinking I may need to buy an amp.
I was wondering if you could tell me what my options are for improving my system. will getting an underseat subwoofer take anough strain of the speakers so they will work proply or am I going to be better trying to get a 5 channel amp to power the speakers and looking at getting a sub with enclosure for the boot. Would you be able to advise me with a number of different options I can go down. I would like to keep the system all pioneer so could you advise me on the best subwoofer and or amp combination to go for to get the best out of my system.I am aware that my head unit only gives 50 watts max power and the component speakers I have run at 60 watts rms and 350 watts max and the 3-ways for the rear are 50watts rms and 300watts max. could this be a reason for the system not working properly and if so what solutions do you recommend.
