Every time I go on a forum I frequent, I always get a Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library Message
Here is exactly what it says:
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
File: c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 8\vc\include\xtree
Line: 293
Expression: map/set iterators incompatible
For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.
(Press Retry to debug the application)
I have no idea what C++ is or anything so if anyone could help me, it'd be great. I don't have microsoft visual studio 8 or whatever, I don't think.
Thank you!
could be a poorly programmed ActiveX object, possibly malware of some sort. i would suggest running 'Adware' and 'SpyBot Search & destroy' (or equivalent), clean out your IE temp folder and remove any unneeded ActiveX objects.
GUG has a great thread on Spyware and Viruses Explained that you may want to read as well.
Tuna ><((((*> the other white meat!
I have tried malaware removal as well as an anti-virus removal and with no success!..THis only started after I did updates.
have you tried checking in Tools|Internet Options|Advanced and UNchecking the "enable debugging" and "display script errors" boxes?
The other option might be to stop using internet exploder and use Firefox instead..
Great advice... use Firefox.
This may be a helpful page from MS → http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822521
I get this in Firefox and Chrome - notably Chrome when it pops up every 10th page or so. I don't have Visual Studio and regularly clean out my system with Search&Destroy, AVG, CCleaner etc. If I click Ignore Chrome crashes but Firefox plods on for a while then crashes too. Ho hum.
that's a stupid suggestion.
