I want to take a mini-break. Somewhere in the US as that's all I can afford right now. Sigh. Anyone have any ideas for a good 3 or 4 day trip? Somewhere where one can unwind but also party it up? East Coast? West Coast? If I didn't live in New York, that's where'd I'd go. Because it's the best place EVER. 
But, since I do, suggestions pretty please!

Have you ever been to Salem, MA? It's a fun long weekend. Or, there's always the Jersey Shore, hahaha.

laguna beach, ca.go to the riviera maya in mexico! see my other comment and PM me if you have questions. i know the resort manager and i'd be happy to give you names to drop!get some sunshine & surf. it's good for the mental health.

is the boardwalk on venice beach still fun to hang out?nevermindscratch my last suggestion. right now you can go to my favorite resort outside of the US for $83 us dollars per night all inclusive. eat. drink. party your ass off at no extra cost. guaranteed. we go every year. plus you can take a cab to cancun for $8.00 us dollars. tons of peeps your age. but you will not want to leave the resort. i guarantee it. they have bars, clubs, and 6 five star restaurants.

I've thought about California. Laguna beach, huh? Am going to look at pics online. I'm sure it's beautiful.

laguna is fabulous but 3x's the cost of the resort i'd send you to. my myspace photograph is of me snorkeling at Xel-Ha. it is 20 minutes down the road from the resort. Xel-Ha is where they filmed the movie "The Blue Lagoon." you can spend the entire day at Xel-Ha for $35 us dollars which includes all meals, drinks, and snorkel, tubing the natural cenotes and water ways, and much more.
it is also 15 minutes from the Mayan Ruins of Tulum. a must must see. well worth the time and money. the night life at the resort is hot! hot! hot! there are swim up bars everywhere in the pools. a bar on the sand at the tip of the water with chairs that are swings instead of stools. very cool! and you are on the caribbean side of the riviera maya. crystal clear warm water as far as they eye can see.

SleazesideSeaside Heights? Like, Oh my god...Anywho, Salem's a blast, I went in late September, and they were already ready for Halloween. If I do ever go again, I'd like to actually be there for Samhain itself, though.

I actually don't venture into Jersey unless I'm going to AC or driving through it to get somewhere
