Cool Holiday Weather ☃

Does having cold weather during the holiday months actually make you more in tuned with the holiday spirit? We are finding that to be the case. Never have we woke up Christmas morning to snow! Suddenly it just feels different. Some how watching Santa & Crew march down Central Avenue in Phoenix when it is 85° outside just seems out of place. I want to at least once be greeted by frigid winds and snow flurries while lined up to watch the Macy's Day Parade. Just once will cure me. For years we have watched the people/crowds on television envious of how festive they all looked.....freezing, but festive as they sipped hot chocolate, kept each other warm, and enjoyed the holiday parades.

Does the cold weather make a difference? We don't necessarily need a white Christmas, cold weather will probably do the trick! Which picture gives you the holiday feel?

Well my opinion is probably biased since I've never celebrated the Holiday's in a warm climate but I still would have to say the cold weather would definitely put more of a holiday feel to it. There's just something about a Santa on a  jetski that seems sooo wrong.

i agree! i've spent many xmas mornings floating on a raft catching 'rays in the pool. we have a marina function at at one of the lakes where as everyone decorates their boat and cruises around. so un-holiday yet....that is what you do in the hot climate zones.

i love driving the boat around looking at the decorations on the docks and other boats! south florida is canal systems everywhere and there were proably more decorations on the docs then the houses themselves.

That just sounds insane... I've never had a warm holiday season, but a few yrs back we had warm weather in Dec, I guess 50 or so, and everyone seemed out of the holiday spirit. It was very strange. It was like Christmas CAN"T be coming, it's not cold yet.

You should go to the Mummers parade this year Tuna!!! (that's on New Years day, in the city)

That was, what, 2 or 3 years ago, right?  Gods, that sucked.  It was late December, AFTER the Solstice, and still 55* every day.  I need the cold weather to remind me to get my shopping done, it just didn't *feel* all that close to Christmas.  I didn't decorate that year, and almost all of my shopping got done on Dec. 22 or so.  Ick.

Yeah, I 'm not a cold weather fan, but MY WORD, that was insane, and depressing. EXACTLY, how am i supposed to be reminded that times is a runnin out? How can i sing silver bells wearing a t shirt? I hated it. Please don't let global warming EVER do that to me again.

oh i remember that too.  i was so confused.  didn't know if i should take down the Chrismtas lights and put the pumpkins back out.  and seriously, no one was enthusiastic cause it was so dang warm.  usually i complain about the cold weather but that was just uncalled for lol.

i want white Christmases darn it!  or at least ones where i get to b!tch and moan about the cold.

Right?? I mean how am I supposed to complain about carrying in bags with frozen hands? And whine that it's too cold to go out and put up lights? It's just not the same, my friends miss the whining, it's as much of a part of Christmas as eggnog, it Just BELONGS.

that's what i'm sayin.  i don't care that we beg and plead with the gods to bring us some spring weather once we start turning blue from the cold.  it's a part of the holiday season and if my appendages don't feel like they're about to fall off, or the tears in my eyes that the cold stinging winds bring about aren't blinding me,  than it makes no sense and i want no part of it!

It was too warm for pumpkins, my mother put 2 out on the front steps, they rotted in a week from the heat.  Miserable.
