Dual Displays

I am having a huge problem trying to configure my dual displays. I have a nVidia 6600 OC 256 MB graphics card with one DVI and one VGA Slot. I have one primary screen (LCD) and a CRT screen. Both of these monitors have a native resoultion of 1280x1024. I am having trouble trying to get the CRT screen working. I have a DVI to VGA convertor and use it for the CRT screen. My LCD goes into the regular VGA slot. I open my nvidia control panel and configure all the settings to dual span. It does not work. My CRT screen shows "check connection". I need major help!!!

May I ask what you are trying to do? Like for a power point Presentation in a church? I had to set this up and install this on a Tower.

Haha. No, just have two screens working so I can move things from one to the other.

Re: Dual Displays

Try using the DVI/D-Sub converter for the LCD instead of the CRT. If you have a DVI connection on the LCD, hook that directly to the DVI output from the card, then bypassing the converter. Then just connect the D-Sub from the output of the card to the input of the CRT. When you right click on the desktop and select properties, you should see the two monitors, labeled 1 and 2. If you click on the second monitor, check the box that says Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor.
