Flight Info. Security

Hypothetically, is there any way a person could find out my flight information without knowing my flight number/destination or anything like that? (just by having my name etc)

HIGHLY doubt it, that information is never accessible based on just knowing your name.  Now, if they have your confirmation number or your Frequent Flyer number for that airline, its very possible.

Thanks!

*little do they know...*

Nope, sorry - though you should be right - twice I've had the same "luck," if you will.

Once on the phone with Delta and once at the airport, and I want to JetBlue, but I'm not positive.  Both flights were post 9/11 both arriving into NY.

Go figure.

This is disgraceful.  I'm sure glad I know this now though. So much for privacy.  I guess we'll have to have another disaster happen, like some stalker gets someone's information and shoots them at the airport, then something will be done, but as usual, it'll be too little too late!  Shame on them!

I wish I could even tell you I was being terribly persuasive - I have been told I could get the panties off a nun... but I wasn't.  In both cases I merely said I needed my husband's flight information.  I was asked nothing but his name and the city of origin.  No ID, even.

missb is correct, it takes a combination of personal data to obtain that information. proprietary information. you cannot get another person's passenger information (flight manifest) without a court order. unless you are a parent and the child is yours and a minor.

If the person knows what airline you are traveling with. It is VERY easy to get the flight info for your flght.
All they have to do is ask... I have gotten (for ligget reasons) that info from airlines several times before even since 911

Care to explain how you do that?

Re: Flight Info. Security Q

One time I was given a copy of the flight info for a guy I was supposed to go pick up from the airport. I was given the wrong info for the wrong person (mix up in the office) when I got to the airport. I explained the situation, and after a few minutes of persuasion and chatting the woman at the airline gabe me the info I needed.
Another time a friend visiting forgot to tell me her flight plans so I could pick her up... Same approach got me the same results.
Worked for me. And it was easy.
