And that isn't even possible with "backdoor Searches"?

Re: Forum Administrators and passwords

I have never heard of a 'backdoor search' (actually, i have, but it doesnt have anything to do with computers!) ..
Either Google (or, other search-bots) can access a page/forum post/ect to index it and make it searchable, or it cant. If google cannot access it to index it, i dont care who's backdoor you're searching, you wont find it.

Hmm, depends on the forum? What does that mean? I know some forums allow non members to search topics but with some you have to be signed in to search. Does the latter keep records, since you have to be signed in to do so?

Oh, and can they keep records if the site uses a FireFox search plugin?

Re: Forum Administrators and passwords

this is why i said "it depends of the forum".. if a particular forum uses a third-party search such as Google Site Search, then the site would not have records of it.. However in this case, Google would.

Re: Forum Administrators and passwords

I am not aware of any Firefox plugins for Wesites/Web servers that relate to the web site's search functions. Post the name if you know it.

http://cnnfan.org/ Look at the search bar at the top. There's other forums I use that use exactly the same type (IPBoard forums). But with some you have to be actually signed in to search, whereas with the one I sent you, you dont.

Looks like a standard website (server side) search tool from here.
