Re: Front Loading Washing Machine Odor

My mother and I both have front loaders...and both have same problem. We use vingear, 2 cups with setting machine on HOT and run cycle this works for about 3 weeks, then have to do it again. And YES keep door OPEN, it helps. Weve tried all the store boughten stuff, and tried the Lemon juice and baking soda and it doesnt work either. Vinegar is the best so far.

If your machine smells to start with you need to use the three tablets in the Afresh package, one wash after another with only the tablet. So far so good it's been 2 weeks and the smell has not yet returned. The manufacturer states using the product once a month after the initial cleaning.

I've have used the Afresh for almost 4-months with no luck! I have also used bleach, vinegar and a multitude of other suggestions to no avail. Then I discovered that in November of 2007, Giskan Solotaroff Anderson & Stewart filed a class action lawsuit against LG Electronics USA, Inc ("LG"), on behalf of all customers who have purchased LG front-loading washing machines that have exhibited mold or mildew under normal use.

I bought a new machine and I have used affresh. It is the best one I have used so far. I bought some cleaner from Walmart and I had fumes in my basement.

Try switching to a powder based HE detergent, that works as well.
