A little bit of an update

So, I've been MIA for a while. School has taken all my time and I've become a little addicted to Mobsters on MySpace.  I joined a mob. So cool.  Anyway, I've been wanting to vent a little about school.  It's not that much work in reality.  It just comes all at the same time.  I have two papers and two tests do this week.

So.  I'm sitting here at home in my bed, drinking a bit of cabernet sauvignon, watching Max play on my bed.  He's pushing the covers around with his paws, running around back and forth trying to figure out where he is.  My hubby is in another city, working, so I'm a little lonely.  Even more lonely because my Sonic was killed today.  The dogs from next door broke the fe

Beautiful Read

We get stuck into this traditional "role"  of what we're supposed to be and supposed to do to reach happiness.  Graduate from college with a 4.0 GPA.

My Vacation

My vacation was great!  Hubby-to-be and I went on a road trip to visit his daughter in Wisconsin, and on the way back, we stopped in Chicago to visit the lovely city.  We had a good time, and we had alot of adventures.  Hubby-to-be and I built snow forts with his daughter.  Unfortunately, the snow wasn't packing snow (a new term I learned), only fluff, so we couldn't make a

Details on the wedding...

I'm broke.  No, not broke. Just being cheap.  I have to be.  Hubby-to-be and I need to save money for a downpayment of our own house.  (We live with his family, which even though we pay the bills, they won't go off on their own paths.)  That means no big wedding.

So... I know I call him Hubby-to-be, but we really weren't engaged.  We've been together for 3+ years, so it just kinda felt like it.   But now...

My Needle

Finishing school is, for me, like trying to thread a needle in a sewing machine.  Almost got, almost got... damn it!  I can't get it, so I keep trying.  Almost... just a little more!  Yes, it's in!  Pop! Damn, the thread snapped

Financial Aid for school

I got approved for financial aid for school about a month ago, and I'm starting to realize how blessed I am that I did.  College is getting SO expensive that without it, I wouldn't be able to go the full semester.  I'd have to keep chugging along at one class a semester to be able to afford the class and the books that are needed.

I encourage everyone out there that are either getting into college or have kids that are getting into college, to apply.  The website is

Abnormal Psych - How we are so quick to diagnose...

I'm a psych major.  Anything of the mind fascinates me, and human behavior is an obsession of mine.  I'm taking summer school right now, and the class I'm taking is Abnormal Psych, which deals with mental disorders such as major depression, schizophrenia, and a variety of personality disorders.  In one of the chapters, there was a section that discusses how many people are so quick to label others and themselves with a certain disorder without being at all qualified.  Something I hear people talk about a lot is bipolar disorder.  One of my bosses used to change his mind all the time, and most of the employees would just automatically say "Oh, he's bipolar."  Or... one of my friend's was talking about yesterday about his mood swings and how he knows he's bipolar.  Bipolar disorder has little to do with people changing their minds or the "normal mood swings" people tend to have.  Of course it depends on what type of bipolar disorder you have to know what your symptoms would be, but you'd have to have extreme mania or hypomania which is a slightly less extreme episode.
