Google Goggles

I <3 saying that.

Anywho, Google's latest app for mobile devices (Androids only right now) allows you to point your camera, click, and get results identifying the object.  This works on books, business cards, store fronts and landmarks.  For now...

By scanning the image, analyzing, and identifying, Google allows you to research books while in the store and compare prices.   Or you can get information about a store by a click of the camera...super cool.

As of right now it's still beta so reviews are that it is buggy.  But, I'm sure once all the kinks are worked out, it will be one of the best application to have...now if they would just make it available to iPhone users I'd be superduper happy.

I  Google.

To learn about it clicky.

On your phone- look for it in your Android market.

Re: Google Goggles

I had told a friend with the G1 about this app and he downloaded it. It works pretty well. We photographed a logo on a fridge and found it in a Google search. Then a bar code. Then tried some art from a local artist. The art photo brought back a Google image search that showed other art work with the same color scheme. It was pretty impressive. If it ever gets released for iPhone I will install it.

i saw on the news how google has access to most everything on the web, more so then other browsers. i magine they'll be cataloging every snapshot down to the camera type and i.p. address.

I had to chuckle when I read this....

I'm sitting here with one my single bestie's and she wonders if it works on men...you know point, shoot, and identify his name, status, and availability....
