Great Cover/Remakes.

Husband-of-mine and I love our music and always schedule time to just sit and enjoy it. We recently watched a few concert clips on HDTV and happened to catch Pearl Jam performing "Love Reign O'er Me" by The Who. By far this is one of THE BEST covers I have heard. My arm goose bump rating was off the charts. Found a vid on YouTube as well.

Anyone else hear a cover that rocked better the second time around?

okay, now you did it! husband has the air guitar powered up! and yes, we both agree w/your 2nd time around selection.

how about "All Along The Watch Tower" by Jimi Hendrix 1968,  was a Dylan original in '67. also LOVE "Knockin' On Heavens Door" done by Guns-n-Roses '91, orig by Dylan in '73.

Dave Mathews did a cool cover of Watchtower.

Didn't Dylan write like every other song ever written in the 60's?

I'm a huge fan of the Beatles, but did you guys catch Across the Universe? Its hard to say better or worst just because the Beatles were so good, but things like 'I Am The Walrus' and 'Come Together' were great. I never thought movie covers could be so good.

Another thing is David Cook, winner of this last American Idol. Again, I love the original artist, but his versions of 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' and "Billie Jean' were outstanding. Again, equal if not better.

OMG, I couldn't agree with you more!  David Cook did a fantastic job on Billie Jean.

And, The Beatles?  They are my FAVORITE band of all time.  Across the Universe soundtrack is fantastic.

Also, Michael Johns from American Idol did an amazing job on the cover of "It's all wrong but it's alright" originally by Dolly Parton.  There are a few other covers I love but can't think of them now.  Will post again when I do.
