MAC Lip Erase

Okay, so I wanted to know if anyone has used this product before and if it's any good? I've seen plenty of reviews online but they all seem to be 50/50 with it...

If you can't tell *points to avatar* I have fairly colored lips... in that picture I'm wearing a clear lipgloss... no color added.  It's usually a day to day guessing game with how bright they'll be... I've even woken up to them being an actual RED, not even a pink... some day's they're a lighter pink... but on average they're about a dusty rose color...

MAC Lip Erase is a thick nude pigmented balm that comes in either Pale or Dim meant to basically 'erase' your lips (ohhhhh, I get it now!!! lol)... it's a PRO product, but you can find it if you want it...

It's supposed to be better than using a foundation or concealer... something about sticking better, melting into your lips, not mixing with lipglosses/lipsticks...

I've always made attempts to do the pale lips thing... but after about 20 minutes it all goes to crap... concealer or foundation settles into lines or just does this weird swirl effect... or I look like I mixed milk with my lipgloss (ewww)...

So again, anyone here use this? Is there another product out there that I'm unaware of like this? Or some trick that I'm unfamilar with to use light lipstick/glosses?

My other big problem with having naturally colored lips (isn't that what everyone wants? yet... it's considered a problem... maybe we just want the option for them and the ability to change our minds as to the color...) is that anything I put on them color-wise, does weird things... my lip color will make it a different color... or an hour later it all turns neon pink (radioactive lips aren't attractive) or whatever... so solutions??

Re: MAC Lip Erase

I just stumbled upon Etude House Lip Concealer, which is supposed to be like the lip erase? well in the sense that it's supposed to be like a nude concealer meant for your lips and doesn't mix with lipgloss/sticks... anyone try this one either?

I think I might try it, I like that it's in stick form....

Re: MAC Lip Erase

No no, I actually DO love my lip color.. makes it easy to just put on some carmex/lipbalm and go... nothing to worry about, no fading, feathering, or having to take time to reapply... I'm also an avid lipstain lover... I just want something for the times I want to go lighter...

I bought the Etude House lip concealer yesterday... I'll let everyone know how it works when it finally gets here... :)

Re: MAC Lip Erase

I've got both, the Etude and the MAC (picked it up in a Mac Pro store a good while ago), and the Etude is more like a regular concealer... MAC's is definitely better... but I find it still isn't what I wanted it for orgininally... without a sealer it still mixes with lip colors a little bit... they both mix, but the Etude mixes moreso than the MAC...

I suppose if you had a lip sealer, any type of concealer would work...

BUT, in that same thought, I *DO* like using the lip erase as a type of 'nude' lip color... I put a lip balm lightly on, then get the lip erase on my fingers, and 'tap' onto my lips and just keep patting until I get the desired effect/blended-ness... a light layer gives it a sheer enough effect that it looks like one of those light pinky-nude toned lipsticks... without getting gross like lipsticks tend to do on my lips if they're lighter than my natural color... I can even build it up to an 'erased' effect... if I want to.... but I don't put anything on top of it....

On a semi-different note, for what I wanted, when I just want a lighter lip color to 'work' on me, lipliner + OCC lip tars are the best choice in my opinion... with a lipliner base, it comes out perfect and lasts forever without migrating... and since lip tars are so opaque, there's no issue with my actual lip color.

Re: MAC Lip Erase

a good while back i stopped by a mac pro and picked up the pale lip erase... i like it but only really use it as a sheer color to tone down my own lip color occasionally... if i wanted to completely erase my lip color I use waterproof concealer products
