Ive noticed an ABUNDANCE of new "remakes" of previously awesome songs. Have you guys noticed this? Heres a few of my favorites! (ok, keep in mind, my preference for music is deliciously dark music- so that influenced my choices below)

Radio Head's 'Creep' is in my all time top 3 songs. Must listen to at least once a day. *obsess much*
but my gawd did Korn really do an excellent *goose bumps on my arms* acoustical unplugged version of it:
i wanted to add that many others have also covered this, but Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders did it with such emotion that she took a rockin' song and made it/me totally bummed....sad...when she covered it. maybe it was because i am used to hearing male vocals?
><))))'>

Have you heard Chrissy sing it? I love hearing her :D
"If lightning strikes twice, I dont want to be standing next to you! "
hahaha.....just as you added your comment/question, husband of mine said, "what about the pretenders' version!? so yes, i like it but it totally changes the song for me AE. i go from rockin' to ....like ....depressed. maybe it is her/Chrissie that does that to me? maybe just the female voice? if it were a guy, i've got the macintosh cranked at 72 decibles.
><))))'>

now you've done it!
i just played these for husband of mine & mini. he fricken loved them. funny thing is, he just downloaded a remake of Spin Me Right Around (by Flo Rida) for mini me to her ipod, it clearly wasn't marilyn but she liked it. she just thinks he is creepy looking!
and the George Michael 'Careless Whisper' was just simply amazing!
now, i've never heard of 'Dope,' but they totally nailed Billy's song.
man....i feel like i've been living in a cave!
><))))'>

lol u let mini listen to the flo rida song? its talking about blowjobs and strippers u know :P
"If lightning strikes twice, I dont want to be standing next to you! "
I can't stand that song. The CD player in my classroom broke so we listen to The End (a local radio station) ever since they started playing that song on rotation I can't let them listen to it. It isn't that any of them know what it is or will repeat it, I just feel guilty about exposing them to that song.
ssssshut up!? seriously? because i loved that song in the 80's. so did
church boyhusband. we both thought it was about dancing. omfg. so we're sitting here listening to the different versions and reading the lyrics. where the hell was i in the 80's to have missed this? *probably in a smoke filled room*><))))'>

No, the original IS about records. Spinning round round. The song by Flo Rida has entirely different lyrics. It just uses a line or two thats the same
"If lightning strikes twice, I dont want to be standing next to you! "
