How far is too far?

There are many dark and sadistic things today: Movies about torture, killers, rapist, etc. that we go watch in movies and on tv. Things like shock sites here on the net. Images of blood, guts, and decapitation. But what goes too far for you? What kind of image makes your stomach turn? Now, if anyone is curious, I can provide you links to some of the worst images that are REAL on the net. Things that even make me turn a little green, and I'm not easily affected. Things I can't post here.

So, how far is too far?

theres only one thing that makes my stomach turn and made me cry. I saw a video of how people in some foreign country. Stripped animals of their skin while they were still alive. The end of the video showed 2 people whipping a dog around by its skin until its skin ripped off. Then the dog got up walked 2 steps. Fell, seizured until bloody foam was coming from its mouth. and twitched, that was the most horrable thing i ever saw, and never want 2 see it again.

That's every fur coat. There is no inhumane way to remove an animals skin.

There's not much that bothers me in terms of watching or seeing messed up stuff. Movies never bother me because no matter what I see I know it's not real.  Rotten.com has never bothered me either. I have a strong thresh hold for gross. I can clean up other people's vomit, no problem. A little blood never bothered me, especially if I have gloves on.

Yes, I can't take those videos either. I'm pretty cold when it comes to humans, but animals? I don't know what it is. There was a compilation video on the web about animal cruelty and it was incredibly graphic. From dogs to dolphins to pigs and everything in between. Just makes me want to hold my little ones close and swear I'd kill anyone who mistreats them.

I've seen a couple videos like that; one with some lady continuously stepping on a kittens head in high heels and fur trade in some country in Asia. Honestly, with all the movies and shows out now, I won't be surprised if people don't have any effects to stuff like this anymore. Most people are immune to it. Rotten.com is nothing compared to stuff I've seen.

ANY kind of torture, whether it be humans or animals, I can't stand that.  It totally freaks me out for days.

Geez.  The only thing that doesn't really bother me too much is the sight of blood.  But not when it's blood that comes after someone's death.  Then I'm traumatized.  I can see horrific medical conditions, as once upon a time, I worked in the medical field, and not lose my lunch.  But, I can't watch gory movies.  I don't want to watch anyone or any animal being tortured.   I am easily disturbed by those images and once, after viewing a particular scene in the movie Saving Private Ryan, I actually cried for like 2 hours and was completely inconsolable.  And that was just a movie!  I just can't.  Don't want to visit any weird torture/death sites on the net either.  Nope.

Which scene was that? I actually watched that movie for the 10th time last sunday. I love that movie, then again, I love all war movies.

On TNT right?  Lol.  See, I do like some war movies.  But this one scene- Adam Goldberg walks into a home and comes face to face with another soldier.  They fight and end up on the ground, and the soldier sticks a knife into his heart as Goldbergs character pleads for him not to do it...ugh...even as I type this my stomach is turning.  I can't watch images like that.  I find them highly disturbing.  For me it goes too far to watch someone die slowly in a film.  And I have this thing about knives so...

I can handle most anything except for documentaries depicting children abused, starving, or orphaned. I also have a very difficult time watching video or listening to the stories final calls made/moments of 9/11.

Re: How far is too far?

I never cringe at movies or other kinds of entertainment but I really don't like seeing real-life graphic stuff like that. It just really grosses me out and ruins my day. I guess I can watch the movies like Hostel and whatnot because I know its fake, Ive been watching horror movies ever since I was a wee boy, But when it comes to stuff like rotten.com I'm a total wuss, I can barely look at all.
