how to format windows xp sp1 and install windows 7
HI i try to install windows 7 but i was asking to upgarde to windows xp sp2......then i try to format my c drive but i said cannot be format ...please tell a easy way to install windows 7 thanks Junaid

Can you tell us the exact steps you are taking to install Windows 7 and the exact wording of the messages you are seeing?

I think if you want to format your Drive c where operation system exists, you may format with your install disk, and boot from Cd

By the way you worded your question, it sounds like your learning curve will be a very steep and treacherous climb so before devoting energy to this, first see if your machine will run Windows 7 using the "Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" (Google it).  Your computer will either pass or fail. I prefer doing *clean installs* rather than upgrades.  Upgrades can sometimes be buggy.  Do a clean install by booting to the disk and erasing all partitions before installing 7.  However if you are set on doing an upgrade, insert and run the disk while your computer is on and choose the "Custom" option. Regardless of what you do, first be sure and save your data (docs, pictures, music, etc.) because it will be lost otherwise.
