iCloud: A Cheater's Nightmare

Apple released iCloud for Mac, PC and iOS5 devices this week and after only a few days, millions of users have already started using the service.  However two features of the new iCloud service could cause big problems for anyone cheating or otherwise doing things they might not ought to be doing.

One of the most ballyhoo'd features of iCloud is Photo Stream.  To quote Apple's website:

With iCloud, when you take a photo on one device, it automatically appears on all your other devices. No syncing. No sending. Your photos are just there. Everywhere you want them.

Every picture snapped on your iPhone or iPad are automatically streamed to every other iPhone, iPad, PC or Mac configured with the same iCloud account.  A photo taken on your iPhone at the bar at 2am will near-instantly appear on your computer at home or on the iPhone of your spouse trying to text-message you asking what you're doing.  And the best part?  You cannot delete individual photos from your iCloud Photo Stream.

You read that right: Once you take a picture, it will automatically be added into your Photo Stream and once that happens you cannot delete it.  Every pictures is stored on the Photo Stream for 30 days, or until you take over 1000 pictures, whichever comes first.

**Update for iOS 6: You can now delete pictures from your photostream, but only on the device you are deleting it from (it stays on the other device's Photostream)

Update 2013 - iOS 7 - Now when you delete a picture from Photostream, it is deleted from all devices.  If you use iPhoto had configure it to download your images, the downloaded images will not be deleted.

The Find Friends App:

Another new feature of iOS5 is a free app called "Find Friends".  Similar to the Find My iPhone service of iCloud, Find Friends allows you to invite people to follow you wherever you go.  Once you give authorization to allow someone to follow you, they will know where you are 24/7, without any notice.   Scorned lovers across the globe may already be secretly inviting and authorizing themselves (without the knowledge of the phone-owner, if they have access to the phone) to track their cheating husband or wife and every step they take.

Smart divorce lawyers out there may already be instructing husbands and wives how to use these great new services.

I am in the middle of ending a 31 year marriage because of Find my IPhone. It's all wrong! My husband was tracking my iPhone through Find My Ipone on his iPad without my knowledge. He claims when I was at work, my phone was tracked to empty offices and therefore I must be cheating when I was working late. He swears the GPS is 100% accurate. Even claims one time it had me in the front of the building getting into a car then driving around to our company parking lot. All false. I work in a large complex, government building with 5 floors. He has become obsessed with his belief of the accuracy of IPhone GPs and therefore my "betrayal." How accurate is GPS inside a building light of cell phone towers, wifi and the like? Many people cheat but I didn't but my spouse is so convinced he has destroyed our family. It's too late for a 31 year marriage and two beautiful children, but I need to know why he thinks GPS is so accurate when I know he is wrong! Thanks.

If you need to check on your partner's sincerity, recover iCloud password, employee's honesty, recover email passwords, social networks (i.e facebook, twitter, Instagram) passwords. change your school grades, clear your criminal records, gain access to bank accounts, or buy viruses. contact me through: vietnamguru1 (at) g m ail dot com

GPS is generally extremely accurate.. What throws the monkey-wrench into your husbands theory is that Find my iPhone does not use just GPS. It uses a combination of GPS, WiFi triangulation and cell-tower triangulation. Why it doesn't use only GPS I dont know. The result is that Find My iPhone is usually pretty accurate, but not always - and I would never say it is "100% accurate". Based on my experience tracking my teenager in "the city", it seems to be about 90% accurate. But i know that when she's inside a building or out in the middle of nowhere, accuracy really drops.

I've also read accounts of people complaining that when in open/rural areas, the Find My iPhone accuracy is lousy.

If I can get into my husband's icloud account how can I see the imessages he has been sending? Will he be notified that i logged into his account?

If I change my apple ID password will that automatically disconnect imessages or any similar from other apple devices that may be checking my messages? I ask that because I believe my wife is checking my messages through her iphone, so I was wondering if by changing the apple ID password it would automatically require here to re-enter the new password.

Yes.. If you change the password all devices using that iCloud account for any iCloud service will have to enter the new password. You should also turn on "two factor" authentication which sends a code to your iphone that you have to enter before you can use any iCloud service.

Two questions: can deleted texts be stored in the iCloud and subsequently accessed by a device that is not the device originally receiving/sending the texts?
And, is the Find my iPhone app accurate? Like can my wife know what address I've been going to this whole time? Is it like a running list of where I've been? Or is it just when she checks? And is there a way to trick the phone into saying I'm somewhere else and still receive texts and calls?

Text messages arent stored on iCloud, only imessages. and Imessages arent sent to a 'device' they are sent to the account, which could be setup on several devices. So yes even though an iMessage was deleted on device A, it would still be on device B.

Find my iphone accuracy varies from very accurate to not very accurate. Everywhere I have ever checked it's accuracy on all of my and my wife's devices, it has always been within a few feet. but some people have reported that in some areas, it's not accurate at all.
No, no way to trick the phone that I know of.

If i have access to my ex boyfriend's icloud can i see his photos and imessages if i have an old iphone that i am not using and back up his icloud to that? like make an exact mirror of his phone so i can read and see photos back to Jan. 31,2015? he is in another state working and i think he started seeing someone before he broke up with me and in order for me to have closure i need to know if he cheated. i have an old iphone 5 that isn't activated, will this work? Can i see photos and imessages if i copy his last icloud back up?

Hi my ex says he can see what I'm browsing through , I clear the history but he's saying everything I go on goes through to his iCloud account which he put on my iPad. Can he see what I'm doing or his he being a knob .....

iCloud doesn't do that but if you're worried just go into the settings and sign-out his account
