iCloud Questions

I have a few questions on iCloud.

1) When on your iPad and tap messages, is it the same as being on your iPhone and tap messages. I guess what I'm asking is... Is Message Icon the same as iMessage? And do the messages go to your iCloud and to Other Devices?

2) Can you tell if you are being tracked by "Where's My iPhone"? Is there a notification you get on your iPhone or is there an Icon that shows up on your message bar on your iPhone?

3) If you delete a contact on your iPad are you notified on your iPhone?

Re: iCloud Questions

1) The iMessages App (or Messages on a Mac) is the same on all iDevices or Macs. IF you have configured iCloud on all of your other devices, iMessages will go to all of them (that's the whole point!). ONLY iMessages though, not TXT messages. See this page to understand the difference: difference between iMessages and TXT messages.

2) By default, there is a small (little arrow) icon that appears in the upper-right near the time any time location services is in use. At any time you can go into Settings|Privacy|Location services to see what programs/services have recently used location services. This icon can be disabled.

3) IF you have icloud configured on your iPad and your iPhone and IF you have enabled iCloud contacts on both, then anything you do is automatically done on the other devices. Add a contact, it's automatically on the other device, delete a contact, the same thing. There is no notification - it just happens. Same thing goes for notes, email, calendar, reminders, bookmarks and documents. The whole point is it doesnt matter what device you have in your hand or are sitting in front of (on a Mac), your stuff is there, without having to think about it.

Re: iCloud Questions
I get that, but if I want to review my daughters iMessages from time to time, I thought I would be able to do that on iCloud.

Re: iCloud Questions
I have signed into iCloud using the IE web browser and I don't see an ICON to view iMessages. I don't see where there is even an option to enable this feature. I have verified my device is on the account (successfully tracked mine and my daughters phone) but I can't see even the iMessages that we've sent to each or others.

Re: iCloud Questions

You can only send/receive iMessages on an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Mac (with Mountain Lion) using the Messages app. iMessages are not available via the icloud website.

To view the messages on a Mac, iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, open the iMessages/Messages app.
