If I coulda, I woulda ...

In another topic, Izzle had commented that he needed to start using the preview button more, in order to avoid those nasty little mistakes sometimes made when posting. That got me thinking about the circumstances of having the ability to use the preview button in life, you know, in order to avoid those nasty little circumstances that happen to the best of us, hell, they happen to all of us. So, here's the thing...There must've been decisions you've made that you've kicked yourself for...so tell us, If you coulda....you woulda done ? ...I'll start...If I coulda hit that preview button, the decision I Woulda changed is when I cheated on my husband...ew, I can't believe I just said that...juliek

I would break my button as soon as I had it....I very much believe everything happens for a reason and that there is something to learn from every situation. So, I wouldn't want to preview, I wouldn't want to change.... I just want to live.

I would have stayed away from my ex the first time we broke up (after 2 months of dating...) would have avoided the awful 3 years following.

Other than that, I wouldn't use it.

Tuna, That made me a little sad when I read it. Maybe you'll have a million grand kids!?

Violet, oh believe me , I'm a strong believer that things happen for a reason and there are many unfortunate circumstances in my life that, although they were far from pleasant to tolerate, I believe they happened for a reason and I would not change them, even if I could.  I think most people have a circumstance they wish they could change, but I totally respect your outlook and anyone else who feels like violet, let us know. I think it makes for interesting reads on this Friday afternoon...julie

nah, don't be sad. i have 4 great kids. 3 are in their mid 20's and doing fine. i have 2 wonderful grandchildren as well. i'm still young enough that husband and i are enjoying each other like we were newlywed. and it'll just pretty much continue like that as mini me gets older and more independent. i do enjoy other peoples children....because i can send them home at the end of the day Wink.

I agree that everything happens for a reason.  I wouldn't want to change what I've done because I've learned from every experience.  There is one thing that I would change if I had the chance.  Not going to post what it is because it's just too personal but that's all I would ever change.  I want to live my life with no other regrets.

Re: If I coulda, I woulda ...

I would go back to when I was 17 and would have married the man that I let slip through my fingers. On a semi cold October afternoon - we walked beside a lake and kept walking and walking. He then stopped and got on his knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes - but a month later - I broke off the engagement. I still regret it to this day. He was a great guy but at the age of 17 I didn't realize that I would now be in my mid 30's thinking back on what a good thing I had. We were sitting in his car outside his apartment and I just broke it off. He cried for the longest time - then he drove me home and I never saw him again. Not even a phone call. Whoa - bad memory Cry I almost got married again in my mid 20's but that guy turned out to be a control freak and no one controls me.

I don't believe in fate or destiny.  Not one bit.  So I don't believe things happen for a reason.  Also, I never could buy the "we are being tested" bit.  I believe things happen in reaction to a cause (or causes) and sometimes sh*t just simply happens and you have to deal with it.

Wouldn't want a preview button but there are some bad decisions I would definitely redo.  I know of one for sure.  Definitely.  A bad decision is a bad decision.
