Not sure where to put this question. Tried googling with no real results, and then I thought of everyone here, always so knowledgeable and helpful. Haven't been around a lot lately, hope everyone is well!
So here is the thing
Last year I bought some .info domains at a buck a piece. At that price I had gotten carried away, and then just parked them for the time being. So now its time to renew and they are 7.00 apiece. Mostly what I have are cities that attract tourists.
My question is this. Does anyone with domain experience think that the dot info sites will ever become popular, or are they just a way for companies like godaddy etc to make more money?
.INFO domains will be around for a while. Although I prefer a .COM because it is what everyone is familiar with, that does not mean that you cant make YOUR .INFO domains popular.
I think some .info's in the specific niche you are talking about (tourist destinations) are a pretty good idea. Now i dont know if youre talking about 5, or 50 (since $1 sales tend to make ya go crazy lol) But id suggest hanging on to 5-10 of the more popular tourist traps and sticking up a simple blog or even just doing a cash park-ed domain and see how they do over the next year (ie, do you generate any type-in visitors or generate any monies?)
Thanks for the input, guess I will hang on to a few, yes I did go crazy at the buck apiece and then freaked at the renewal of 7 each lol.
@ hubby, yes me too about dot com, old habits die hard. I find myself doing .com automatically even when I KNOW a site is .net or .gov.
