Instagram Has New Privacy Policy

Instagram logoInstagram is subject to a lot of scrutiny over their privacy policy changes, just like every other social network, and today they made some changes that are bound to upset some people. The changes that came out today involve sharing user data with affiliate sites (Facebook specifically) and unfortunately users don’t really get any control over how it is done.

The new privacy policy makes it clear that Instagram has the right to share user data and information with sites like Facebook and advertisers and users are not allowed to opt out. The good news is that users will still have the ability to control who sees images but that might change in the future as well.  For most users having data sent to Facebook isn’t really a big deal, but Instagram users that don’t even use Facebook will still be subject to the policy so there are bound to be some upset Instagram users out there.
