Internet issues

I've been having a few issues with my internet lately.

I've been trying to download programs for protecting my computer and add-ons to watch videos on sites like and The file completes but i'm not able to pull it up. I've talked to a few people and they say I have a spyware problem and to download an anti-virus program. But when I do I can't find it anywhere on my computer. What should I do?

Re: Internet issues

When you are downloading these things, you should have the option to specify WHERE you download it to before you press the "save" or "download" button. are you looking in the place you are downloading them too?

Also, your friends are right - if you are using Windows you MUST use antivirus and anti-spyware software. If you are using a Mac, you don't need to fuss with such sillyness.

Re: Internet issues

If you are using Firefox and haven't changed any settings then they usually download to the default "downloads" folder. In Vista and Windows 7, it's located in your profile directory, same as "My documents" and "My Pictures" folders. In Windows XP, it's in the "My Documents" folder.

Vista and Windows 7:
C:\Users\[user name]\Downloads

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\My Documents\Downloads
