Is it possible to get emails from dating sites you have not visited? Or to get random chat requests when you are web surfing?
My boyfriend is getting emails from dating sites and says he has never been on them. And the random chat request popped up with a name and small photo while he was browsing the web last night. I'm not sure if these are just spam? But a chat request?

are they real chat requests in whatever chat program he uses, or are they just fake ads that look like chat requests? I get spam like that all the time and fake chat requests every time i visit my favorite porn site.

Well, I'm not sure...He was doing a search on his smartphone and a message popped up toward the bottom of the screen saying, 'you have a chat request from Sheila'. There was also a small picture next to it. I'm not familiar with smartphones and am not sure if he had a page open previously and minimized that he forgot about? Or does this sometimes happen when you do topic searches on the internet? Unfortunately, I know what it seems like :(. I'm really hoping someone can tell me this happens them as well....innocently.

it's entirely possible those are just spam/ads .. but without seeing and knowing exactly what/how it's happening, it's impossible to say for sure.

those seem to be fake chat requests. spam, ads, there are many ways to call them, but the meaning is identical - make people click on them and get redirected to a particular site
