Let the music play live.... Concerts!

Some like to hear CD's of their favorites live. Some love the feeling of the music pumping through their body. Some just want to see their favorite singers and get as many pictures as possible! Haha. No matter what it is, people have been going to concerts ever since bands have been playing. May it be on a small stage, outside, or in an arena, concerts allow you to get up close and personal with not only the singer(s), but also hundreds and thousands of fans who are there, sharing the love of the music!

So, who would you like to see live? Who have you seen? Your favorite concert?

I haven't been to TOO many concerts in my time but I have seen: Styx, twice. Foreigner, Def Leopard, Beach Boys, Frankie Valley, Daugherty, and Bon Jovi. I hae also heard impersonation groups of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones... I think Bon Jovi was the best... It was this past year and GEEZE! Does he know how to put on a show or WHAT??? Haha

I would love to see Aerosmith in concert..... That would make me happy. Smile

Journey - 1986... meadowlands - NJ .

That rocked my world.... Steve Perry in those spray on pants was priceless... All kidding aside that was the best concert I've ever been to.

REO Speedwagon - Puerto Rico - 1987... they rocked but our seats sucked...

What goes around comes around..don't forget it!

Ah, I didn't realize there was a topic similar to this.... Oh well. Its totally different. Haha.

Lets add to this.... How far have you gone to hear a concert?

I drove down 6 hours to Jacksonville to hear Styx the first time..... I drove six to hear Beach Boys/Frankie Valley.... Then I drove all night and went to class the next day. I almost died that night, but it was so worth it. Haha.

Rolling Stones - Cleveland, Ohio in 1997... my husband bought me front row center tickets for our anniversary!! I could almost touch Mick and Keith even sang to me......

Also saw them in 1988 in Cincinnati and  in 2006 I took my 17 year old daughter to see them in Pittsburgh... She's now a huge fan also !!

So, who would you like to see live?

In no particular order and in most cases no chance in hell,

Johnny Cash.

The Who.

Led Zepplin.

Black Sabbath.

Coheed and Cambria. (Might happen one day)

Between The Buried and Me. (Again, and again)

Kinghorse (One more time)

Mastadon.

Primus.

Lucero.

Jimi Hendrix.

Iron Maiden (again and again)

If you're thinking well, lots of those bands are still around then that means I want to see them in their glory days, not the band as they currently are.

I don't want to die without any scars.

saw coheed.  he was amazing.  he speaks(voice) differently though.

primus.  it was brains(drummer) birthday.  P.O.D. opened.

Nine Inche Nails--super good.

Motley Crue-- really good

U2-- incredible, w/ Billie Joe of Greenday encore, Pearl Jam opened.

Police--OK.., not big fan and sound was horrible.

Van Hagar --5th row! eddie was eddie.

Metallica--'92-amazing, they sounded just like the records.  ears rang for 2 days!

George Clinton & P. Funk--private show.

ive been lucky to hang out with a few musicians--Vernon Reid+Doug Wimbush(living Colour), Slash, Dino Cazares+Raymond Herrera(FearFactory), Dimebag R.I.P., George Lynch, Kerry King(Slayer), Steph Carpenter(Deftones), Wesley Borland(Limp Bizkit).  it was great getting to meet some personal hero's.

And I almost Listed Brujeria as one of the bands I still want to see.  Is it too late to add them? Ok, then I'll add Brujeria to the list of wants.

Coheed is playing a three or four night gig in New York around my wife's birthday in October. Each night they'll play a whole album. There will be acoustic sets for Gold Ticket purchasers and a meet and greet with the band. It's killing me that I can't go.

Re: Let the music play live.... Concerts!

Hosoi is out of jail now and skating again. He's still pretty good but being in jail for that long has taken a bit of a toll. Mostly in a keeping up with the times kind of way. He still has that unbelievable style though. Nothing can take that away from him.  That's a pretty serious line up. I'm not a hugeTool fan but I would have listened to them live while watching people skate, that's for sure.
